"typical Vasque durability...." 09/23/11
I love Vasque boots, but their quality just sucks. The last two pair (different styles) both lasted 14 days before being demolished. But I keep going back to Vasque because they fit my feet so well--very comfy and I have never had a blister.Well this year I tried this boot. 3 weeks after getting back from my hiking trip I still have no feel in a couple toes and now am going to the doctor. I never noticed anything during the trip, just the day I finished. My feet have been killing me ever since, Durability is still a Vasque issue. Don't expect them to last too long
"The boot is waterproof and comfortable but not durable" 05/22/11
I have had these boots for 2 years putting on probably 300 miles onto them. I have hiked on trail, off trail, and backpacked with them multiple times in places ranging from the Grand Tetons to the Grand Canyon and everywhere in between. Although the waterproofing and the Gor-tex liners are bombproof this boot is not. After 300 miles the soles of these boots started cracking right underneath the ball of my foot. Do a little research on these boots and you will find this is a common problem. Don't trust reviewers that get them out of the box, look at them and say they are durable. After 2 years and hundreds of miles in these boots I can tell you they are not.

"Get ready for a tough boot." 04/16/11
These boots are great. No break in time put them and you will love them. The gortex lining makes crossing creeks are other wet hazards easy. Go ahead run across that creek no worries here. Super traction and lace up quickly.
"Tough, waterproof, and very dependable." 10/27/10
This boot has it all. It is made with Gore-Tex, and it has kept me dry in slogs ankle high through rivers. The Wasatch is also very tough, and can withstand any beatings you can throw at it. The only problem I have encountered is that if water goes above the top of the boot, your feet will be wet and cold until you can stop and dry out the boots.
"Best i've ever had." 09/21/10
I really like these boots. I've backpacked 12+ miles/week, cross-country for almost a month now and haven't had any problems. They break in instantaneously, waterproofing is perfect, they are light weight and breath. They also eat up the terrain like they're starving.
"boots may look tough, but have no balls!" 05/18/10
i can't rate these boots as total crap for one reason: if you just wear them casually they may hold up. i put 400 miles on these things and the soles on both boots split all the way across and the entire depth of the sole! very disappointing to say the least. i've never had a more comfortable pair of boots, or shoes for the matter, on my feet. they were an abosolute joy to wear, but if you do alot of backpacking get somethin else. these will not hold up! i'm not the only one with particular issue. do some research. and i have nothing but praise for moosejaw. they did everything they could have when my boots blew out! love the madness!
"Well built boot" 11/21/09
So far, i really like these boots, but the jury is still out as to whether they are too narrow or not. Here are the POSITIVE things (the only POSSIBLE NEGATIVE is they may be to narrow for my feet, but that would be my fault if they are):1. Super waterproof.2. Feels comfortable to your feet.3. Grippy soles.4. Easy to lace.5. Looks good.6. Tough as nails.
"The Coolest and Toughest" 10/05/09
These boots tear up any terrain regardless of weather. Excellent traction prevents you from slipping and sliding on the trail. A must buy for anyone who is searching for a boot that not only offers protection, but is light weight.
"LIKE EM!!!" 08/27/09
I really like these boots. I was deciding between these and the Montrail Torres and I decided to go with these. They were amazing. The traction and sole were great and grippy. I trudged through anything and my feet didn't get wet at all thanks to the gore-tex lining. They do feel a bit heavy but thats cause they provide good support and are bombproof.
"Flagship boots" 04/03/09
This flagship backpacking boot by Vasque does it all---hiking, climbing, and of course, backpacking. "Why is so heavy," some gripe. Well. A wee over three pounds is not heavy, unless if you're a wuss. Plus, as aforementioned, 'real' boots have some heft to kick your way through scree and talus and to prevent hike-ruination by protecting your feet from rolls, shocks, and marmots. If you've ever used a 'too light' product, you'll understand what I'm ranting about. Remember, real outdoorsy types of yesteryear prefer the lovely musk of leather. They also manage to keep your feet warm and dry to boot.Best part? Got these babies for free from Moosejaw rewards. Love the madness.
"Great boot, glad I bought a pair." 09/03/08
I bought my pair back in June '08. Since then I have worn them for casual use and in extreme conditions. On pavement they seem rather stiff, but on a trail they are great. These boots fit me perfectly which was the main reason I purchased them. They provide a good amount of ankle support and seem rather durable. I did a pull through portage on a canoe trip that was about 1/2 mile going through a stream about 1'-2' deep. My feet got wet, but my ankles and feet were perfectly fine after stumbling, twisting, and guessing my way down a stream filled with odd shaped and sharp rocks and branches. Glad I bought these and I am looking forward to many more years of abuse... err... use.
