Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Boots! I bought these in March of this year for a trip to Alaska. Shortly after purchasing them, I started wearing them to work and now I wear them everyday. This year I have hiked Alaska, Yellowstone, Alta, Moab, Cache National Forest (NE Utah), northern Idaho and NW Montana. I wipe them down when done and head to work the next day. They are great for walking my dog in the neighborhood on rainy nights. Best hiking boots I have owned, and I have owned a lot. Still look great after nine months of abuse. I have a narrow foot and I can wear normal socks with this boot. This is my first pair of Vasque, but I have worn narrow width Red Wing work boots since 1992.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Comfortable but not durable I purchased a pair of these boots from bass pro shop November of last year. Here it is 8 months later and they have huge holes in the sides (where the leather meets the sole) and the tread is gone on the sole. The holes started around 6 months after purchasing. I am a land surveyor so I am hiking through the woods every day. I walk 5-10 miles per day so I need a comfortable as well as durable, waterproof boot. I was extremely happy with the boots when I first got them. The break in time was practically immediate. If you are a light hiker these would be great but if you are a heavy hiker or plan on wearing these every day they will not stand the test of time.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Amazing comfort, but they did not hold up. This is the first pair of Vasque boots I've ever purchased. I can easily say they are the most comfortable pair of hiking boots I've ever owned. Sadly, the quality of the boots does not match the comfort. I use my boots on casual weekend hikes. The front toe of one of the boots has started to separate from the sole. My previous pair of merrell boots lasted me 5+ years. Considering I paid more for these boots, 6 months of use is very disappointing. The toe has not completely separated yet, but it makes it hard to trust the boots and I feel like this would compromise the waterproofness of the boot. Amazing comfort, but sadly the quality does not match the comfort. Not a great first impression, but maybe I just got a bad shoe?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable right out of the box. Several years ago I found a Vasque pair of boots that fit perfect right out of the box. I purchased four pairs and after many miles of hiking my last pair pushed off its mortal coil this season. My previous pair had more light weight elements that caused the boots to wear out quicker so I was looking for more of a leather upper, but not a full on heavy leather boot. The Talus UltraDry fit right out of the box and has handled the last dozens of miles I hiked to complete the Finger Lakes Trail in New York State. I purchased another pair for every day use and a third for when my hiking pair wear out in what I expect will be a few years down the road. Great boots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely Satisfied My friends all opted for the standard default option of buying Merrell boots for our new endeavor of backpacking a few years ago. I however, stumbled on these and have been elated with the construction and comfort. They have endured thousands of feet in elevation changes, creek crossings, snow, and slippery rock faces and have performed in all occasions to my satisfaction. In addition they have proven comfortable enough to wear around town and extremely warm when the temperature drops. After 2 years they are still keeping water out and providing great support. My next pair of boots will be Vasque!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not hold up I've owned 2 pair of Sundowners in the past 25 years. Wore them both for multiple years on many 2-3 day over nighters. They were awesome. Purchased a pair of Talus for light weight and hoped for same stability. Not so. Went up to the High Peaks in Lake Placid and the boots just did not hold up. After two days now separating at the front toe rubber seams.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good all-around boot I am a size 11 1/2 EE. The wide version of this boot fits perfectly. The foot bed fits perfectly and the upper is slightly snug. This boot has a fit that is perfect for off trail treking and moving over rugged terrain. This is a performance fit boot and has a very small break in period. the outsole has great traction on a variety of terrain. The only reason I did not give this 5 stars is because of the lack of a speed lacing or a true eyelet system. This is my go-to footwear for disc golf, hiking and light to moderate backpacking.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great pair of boots! I bought these boots a few months ago and i've worn them almost everyday since. Very comfortable and supportive. they work great on the trails too great grip and they do a great job of keeping water out. the only drawbacks are they do not breathe at all because the whole boot is watertight which is fine in colder temperatures but now that its starting to warm up i will leave these boots in closet when i go on long summer hikes, also a little on the heavy side but out side of that they are a great pair of boots
