This is a great shoe, all the way around.I simply love this shoe!!!. It is exactly what I wanted it to be and the fit is great. I went up 1/2 a size do to the recommendation of the 3D shoe fitting system on Amazon. The fit is perfect. The shoe is very well made and after a day of walking around I find I may need very little break in time, if any. I love the style and the toe box is a perfect with and the heal cup is very comfortable. The only very little problem I have is my right lace seems to come untied very easily. I will correct this with some bungee laces when I can. Other than that, I will but the Vasque again. BTW, I spent about 2 months researching and trying on shoes before I chose these.

Comfy / WarmThese are a definite buy for those who prefer low cut boots. They are probably the most comfortable shoes I own. Make sure to wear your smart wool socks because your feet won't be cold in these through three seasons. Break in time is shorter than expected and if I can manage to destroy this very sturdy hiking shoes I'll be getting another pair. No toe stubbing, and no blisters (probably thanks to the socks but still) I'm a happy customer. Forgot to mention the grip, I feel like I could go bouldering.

Does Not Hold Up!I decided to purchase these Vasque hiking shoes because I have a pair of Red Wing 435 work boots and am extremely pleased with their durability, comfort and performance. I assumed that Red Wing would only sell quality products in their stores, so purchased my first pair of Vasque shoes on November 7, 2015. The first time I wore them was on a hike to Sharp Top, Peaks of Otter on November 27th, and quickly realized that they were very slippery on wet rocks. They kept my feet dry and provided good traction in dirt and mud, but I had to retie my shoes several times even though I double knotted them. I have worn the shoes about four times a week on short hikes of approximately two miles and have worn the outside heels on both shoes to the gray midsole. In addition, the cloth lining on the heel of my left shoe now has a hole worn in it. All things considered, I expected

impressive!I bought these shoes for work and occasional hiking. The best feature about these is how waterproof they are! You can submerge your foot up over the tongue of the shoe even over the laces and you will be dry. I can switch from these to my nike running shoes and feel no discomfort, they feel like a normal shoe not a boot. just make sure to get a wide size and try them on and focus on your little toe. i wear a size 10 nike and i got these in a 9 wide. I would like to get another pair!

A shoe that helps you walk on and on and on...During the past year and a half, I developed knee problem that keep me from enjoying walking, hiking and playing tennis. I tried many types of shoes to no avail; they were either too soft in the arches, too narrow at the heel and toes, and, worst of all, not high enough in the laced area. Then I spied my Vasque shoes patiently waiting in the closet for me to see the light or foot, or whatever... I tried them and it was instant relief.
Being the incredulous sort, I tried the Solomons, Merryls, Borne and other " quality performance" shoes until it was beyond question that the Vasque were the answer to my 10 1/2 EE knee problems. If there is an "issue" is that my closet is now full of shoes I will never wear again.
So, Vasque, hurry up and design a pair of tennis shoes so I can go back to the sport I love! Or, maybe I'll try these ones on the courts...

Worn in surgery every day.I was looking for all day comfort and protection working on hard floors in surgery. I found comfort from the first day and still 9 months later. I liked the fit so much I purchased a pair for daily wear for fall and winter in northern California. Great heal and toe protection and not to heavy. I am currently looking to buy another Vasque shoe for summer vacation.

Great fit - VERY SLIPPERY SOLES!Bottom line: I would not have purchased these shoes had known how slippery the soles would be on wet surfaces! On most wet surfaces any smoother than asphalt the shoes are treacherous and the user needs to pay attention to footing. Recommended surfaces wet or dry dirt, grass or mud. NO SMOOTH HARD WET SURFACES!!
A bit of background: when buying hiking boots or shoes I always look at Vasque shoes. The quality and fit have always worked for me having a short wide foot. Currently I have four pairs in service for backpacking, light hiking and walking. When I needed to replace my Goretex Mantras I purchased the Breeze GTX shoes. The shoes are great for light hiking and walking the dog on wet grass but beware walking on smooth rocks or concrete is like walking on an icy surface! The sole compound makes no sense for a shoe that will be used in the wet on mixed surfaces. The slippery sole makes these a non starter for hiking on anything other than surfaces that allow the cleats to grab hold as dirt or grass. I wouldn't even think of taking them into the mountains where a person may experience wet rocks on the trail!

Excellent versatilityI purchased the hiking shoes about two weeks ago and find them to be perfect for my lifestyle. My old Columbia hiking shoes were about 6-7 years old so I conducted research to meet my criteria: versatile (comfortable on the trail and traveling- walking for hours (planned trip to Scotland & England in December)); waterproof, and a stable "platform" (Vibram); wear with jeans without looking like I just came off the mountain.
