UNDER ARMOUR MEASUREMENT GUIDE
• Please note that all the info provided refers to body measurements, and NOT the dimensions of the garment.
HOW TO MEASURE:
Chest - Place the tape measure under your arms at the fullest part of your chest, wrap around your body until your fingers meet and mark the measurement.
Waist - Measure around your natural waistline, right above your hips. Be careful not to squeeze too tight to allow a little give.
Head - To figure out your UA fitted hat size, measure the circumference of your head where your hat will rest. If you don't have a tape measure, use a string and measure it against a ruler. Find your measurement on the size chart to determine your ideal UA hat size.
Hands - On your dominant hand, measure from the base of your palm to the tip of your middle finger then use the chart to find your ideal UA glove size. You can also measure the circumference of your palm right under your fingers.
* Check the product features and specs for the type of fit of each Under Armour style.
Loose - Fuller cut for complete comfort, total range of motion and greater breathability.
Fitted - A slimmer, athletic cut that allows total mobility but eliminates the bulk of extra fabric.
Compression - Ultra-tight, second-skin fit that keeps you locked in and makes you feel like you can do anything.
Rated 4 out of
Awesome jacket for the priceIf you know how to wear it, it does live up to the name. This runs large. I am 5'10" 170lbs and fit into a small (form fitting) when I usually wear medium, but the Medium in this was too baggy. It does have a tighter bottom hem that helps keep the air out.
Now onto the details. You need to wear a base layer in order to use this effectively. I have a compression cold gear mock and uniqlo extra warm heattech long sleeves and I don't have any issue in 32 - 40F degree weather. I walk everywhere (hours outside in these temps). Note that if you don't use a base layer, the wind will cut through this and it won't be pleasant. It is designed to be used with thermals and reduce drag, while keeping you warm, but they don't explicitly state that.
Water repellant works well. I made the mistake of forgetting my umbrella and this kept me dry underneath. A good shake and place in a spot to dry and you wouldn't even know it got wet.
Rating a 4/5 for lack of information on UA's part as well as the fact that I have not tested "extreme" cold situations. It holds up well in near freezing temps and above, but not sure if that is enough to go on its own for extended time periods.
