The Jaws by Trango is the most versatile belay device you can buy. Period. When you need a positive and secure lock-off, run the brake side of the ropes through the unique double V-notches. In this configuration, Jaws has more stopping power than any other belay/rappel device we can find. Turn Jaws around and run the braking rope over the smooth side when you need a lightning fast feed on trad or alpine terrain. Don't worry about catching a fall, because in this mode Jaws has similar braking abilities to our Pyramid. Rappels are smooth and controlled with Jaws. The large rope slots make it easy to set up, the V-notches control the speed and the flat rope path really prevents kinking. For low-angle or long double rope rappels, you can turn Jaws around so the free end of the rope runs over the smooth side.

"Love my girl, Love my life more" 		          09/19/09
My best climbing partner is my girl and I weigh about 75 pounds more than her so when she is belaying me and I fall or have her lower me and look down and she is struggling thats not cool. By getting her some jaws that is no longer an issue. She is way more comfortable now which gives me more ability to concentrate on what I'm doing and not have to worry about crashing to the ground or shredding her pretty hands. Great product if your climbing partner is heavier than you.

"Smooth belaying for those husky climbers in your life." 		          01/21/08
My boyfriend weighs about 80 lbs more than I do. Belaying him can get pretty jerky but this little device makes things a lot smoother and more controlled. Being in control is a good thing... not that I'm a control freak. Wait, yeah I am.
