ThermaCapture Radiant Heat Technology is a proprietary reflective coating that we apply to a range of surfaces. By reflecting radiant heat back to your body that is otherwise lost, this extremely lightweight coating turns that surface into a very efficient heat reflector, amplifying warmth without the excess weight or bulk of added, conventional insulating materials.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm, Luxurious Sleep! I took this camping in Big Sur last month and it was great, save for a few things - which are sort of exactly why I bought it, so I'm conflicted. It's a 66" pad, and I am a 67" woman - I thought this would be fine, but my toes dangling at the bottom did bother me. Make sure you're okay with this (or put your pack under your feet, maybe.) The other thing is that because it's more human-shaped than rectangle-shaped, it saves weight, but it is quite narrow - could be a little too narrow for me at the shoulders, because I'm a not-small 67" woman. HOWEVER, the sleep was great, I did not find it rustly/crackly at all, and as a side sleeper, my hip bones FINALLY did not hit the ground. Hallelujah.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like sleeping on a cloud of banana cream pie, but less sticky I have a hard time believing this thing even exists. It rolls up tiny but is impressively lofty. I get cold at night easily so I appreciate the extra insulation in the women's model. The regular is the perfect length for me (I am 5'8.5"). I haven't taken it on any long trips yet so I can't comment on its durability, but it seems sturdy. I have pretty bad scoliosis and am a side sleeper so a comfy mattress is absolutely essential for me, but this way I don't have to compromise on weight. More than I initially wanted to invest, but well worth it. I do think I'll invest in the inflation sack at some point, because it does take a good amount of effort to inflate and I want to keep water vapor out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally, a good night's sleep... Seriously, just get it. You're going to end up upgrading later on anyway, so you might as well buy it now and at least you'll get that much more use out of it. Super lightweight, packable, and incredibly comfortable, once you sleep on this you will wonder how you ever did without it. Not only will you be comfortable at night, but your next day will be that much better! It does take some air to puff up, but when you're camping, you're usually not too pressed for time, or lung power. A good night's sleep is well worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from None better for ease, light weight & comfort No brainer Buy it! This pad was a gift for our 22 yr old adventurer. A good nights rest on the trail cannot be underestimated. Hubby has the men's & is very impressed with the quality & comfort it provides, not to mention the quick set up/take down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light weight& comfy. I bought this for an up coming trip. Haven't used it yet...but tried it at home. Super light weight & comfy after blown up. Packs down to original tiny size...easy to get all air out. I think I'm going to love having it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best sleeping pad This is the best sleeping pad you can get for it's weight/warmth ratio. It's expensive but worth the investment. You know you'll eventually upgrade so just do it the first time. Puffing it up takes some time though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I mostly snuggle I am a 6ft, 175 pound male who slept on this pad for 100+ nights and enjoyed every one. I had a larger, mens version of this pad that had a manufacturer defect. Thermarest was great and replaced my product, unfortunately the outfitter I was working with only had these in stock, and since I was thru-hiking the A.T, I kinda needed a sleeping pad right away. Mount Rogers Outfitters did me a favor. Although this pad was 5 inches narrower, and a foot shorter than my other one, it was just as comfortable, and since I mostly snuggle while I'm sleeping, I barely noticed the shorter length. I would toss my clothes bag at my feet so that if I did stretch out my legs were on something besides my cold tent floor. What I loved the most is the lighter weight and decreased volume in my pack. This thing seems to defy the laws of physics with its comfort to weight to volume ratio. For those looking for an ultralight sleeping pad, while not sacrificing a good night's sleep, look no further. P.S. To anyone who thinks that blowing up a pad is too much of a chore every night, please lay on one of these and tell me that it is not worth it.
