Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pad I have used this pad for over a year in all 4 seasons for both boyscout camping and backpacking. Just used it for a weeks long hike in the White Mountains of NH. My pad and 45 degree bag fit in my sleeping bag compartment of my backpack. I have used this pad for over 40 nights and have had no issues with sleeping on my side. I have used it down to -2 in the winter and it worked fine, no cold spots. The pad will inflate on its own when it is warm. It does take time to inflate when it is below 20. Otherwise I never had an issue with it. I have 3 of these pad for my two kids and myself. It rolls in half and takes up less space in the pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most Durable of the Lightweights I've used many many sleeping pads over the years as a guide. I've tried the gimmicky pads, the ultra light pads, basic pads. This pad is hands down the best option out there, if you are serious about having lightweight gear that will hold up to the real abuses of spending long amounts of time in the backcountry. It has kept me warm and comfortable in quinzhee's on backcountry ski trips in Montana, in tents high in the alpine tundra of southwest Colorado, under tarps in the rugged and soaking wet Appalachians of North Carolina, and it's even kept me afloat for some lounging on zero days on lakes and rivers. After all of this abuse I haven't had a single complaint, or even a single leak. Don't waste money on other brands or pads, Thermarest really is the best.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable, reasonable weight, good insulation I use both the women's and torso length version of the Prolite Plus. For me, it's a happy medium between the thinner regular Prolite and heavier car camping style models. The torso length (short) model with clothes under my feet is perfect for camping on the PCT -- just got back from a couple nights out. If I could change anything I'd find a way to keep everything the same but shave off a couple ounces. Special edition? Love it either way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A light weight compact performer I bought the Prolite Plus for my BWCA canoe trip to ensure my backside stayed warm while swinging in my hammock. My reasoning for the Prolite Plus was I needed it to be light weight, compact and have a good insulation value. I use a small bag that is rated to a low of 35 degrees so a good thermo layer is a necessity. On our last night it dipped down to 28 degrees and put a layer of frost on everything. The other 5 guys complained they got cold but I remained toasty warm. The funny part is was they all had down bags rated to cooler temperatures than my own and were using different pads than I was. We are going again in a couple of weeks and the temps will be cooler and I just found out that all my canoe companions have purchased the Prolite Plus. Awesome! Now I will not hear any more complaining and whining and they will see the value in a quality pad. Thank you Therm-a-Rest.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very warm, decent padding I've had a Thermarest Prolite Plus for more than a year. I've also slept on the Women's Prolite. The Prolite Plus is definitely really warm. I've never felt cold through it even down to 25-30°F temps. I've used it many times in a hammock as well. I find that it's enough padding to lay on your back comfortably, but if you are a side sleeper, you will probably want a thicker pad or to pitch the pad on a soft site (grass, leaves, etc.). It gets three-season use every weekend and looks great, no leaks. I typically either throw it on a tarp or in a hammock, but I've also used it on the bare ground a few times.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not feeling cold from the bottom any more I have been thinking of spending more money on the camping mat for a long time. This winter, we have been so cold with our old mats that I got convinced. And, the experience is like sleeping on the softest bed. No waking up from cold or hard surface below pushing on my bones when sleeping on my side. Also, when lying on my back, it somehow was warm straight away - no need to be warming it up for minutes. I can recommend it. Will see how long it lasts, as with the cheaper versions of self-inflatable mats brands it usually lasted two seasons and then they started leaking and the top material peeling off.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not the weight listed on the packaging I bought the Prolite Plus (regular) for a multiday walk where weight is critical. Although the mat does everything described on the pack - comfortable, easy to pack etc. but it is seriously heavier than described. I have the 2015 model and the packaging says that it is 570g but when I weighed it, it is 617g - that's nearly 50g over what Therm-a-Rest claim. Add the stuff sack and it's 638g. Yes, it's still lightweight and packs super small but I felt that anyone looking to buy the Prolite Plus should know its actual weight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great pad Have had this for 2 years now. Used it for scout camping and backpacking. Used all year round. No issues with it at all. Used in all 4 seasons. Self inflates in warm weather. In the winter I have to add a couple of breathes. Love this pad. I have 3 of these pads for my boys and myself.

I was looking up the specs for the large pad and coming up with a different range.   On the package it listed 25x77 and weighted in at alb 10oz.   Specs on your site are not the same, can't figure out if thats an error or just an older model pad.  Thx

Thanks for the question! The sleeping pad dimensions are 25 x 77 and the weight is 1 lb 10 ounces. I will get that corrected on the site. Thanks for the heads up!

is it essay to inflate/deflate?

Asked by: melabta
Hey there, This sleeping pad is designed to be easy to inflate. The foam core self-inflates, and from there you only need to blow into the pad a few times to bring it up to full inflation.
