Big Fan!I must start by saying that I have only slept on my new mattress once. I bought it a few weeks ago and was finally able to put it to the test, well test run. I slept great! It feels just like a blow up mattress. Blowing it up was easy and maybe took me two minutes. Folding it back up took about five minutes. The best feature is how small it is once it is deflated and rolled up. It will save me so much space on my pack.
My one and only complaint- The mattress is pretty noisy. When I roll over or move around it makes a crunching sound. Like leaves or paper. Not a huge deal for me personally. I believe it is the best backpacking mattress available for this price!

Love it!For the little space and weight that this takes up it is a steal! Very comfortable, only issue is blowing it up with my mediocre lung power. Maybe I shouldn't have smoked all of those years. Yeah I like it, I recommend it, but I also recommend buying a pump.

AK Doc from
Comfortable, but takes a while to inflateThis works well, and is comfortable to sleep on. Because of the size/thickness, it does take a decent lung workout to inflate it. For the life of me I can't roll it up into the small size it came as. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but this thing takes up more room in my bag than it should and if it requires some extra diligent rolling/squeezing/compressing then I just may not have the patience to do that every time.
Overall works well and is comfortable, but just a bit inconvenient due to size and inflating time/effort.

Sleep like a baby, tonight! Before buying NeoAir Venture WV I was using 3.2 cm thick sleeping mattress and I did not sleep well. Turning around all night, looking for comfortable position. Changing to this 5 cm beast made a major differnece. I can sleep on the back or on the side without a problem and wake up in the morning like a new person :)
I guess this NeoAir is meant to use inside a tent or on smooth surface, since outer materials do not look as hard and durable as on Thermarest Prolite for example. So if you use it inside tent, as I do, I think it makes really good mattress, for a reasonable price.

Holy back pain! The only good things about the bed were the quality of the material and the compact size. After a 30 mile paddle in a kayak that already halfway broke my back, we pulled up on a sandbar for the night. Excited to get some nice rest on what the reviews said was a great bed, I woke up with worse back pain than the night before. In fact, for about a 1.5 hour span, I would wake up hoping morning was here so I could get off the awful bed, only to find out that I've been asleep for only another 5 minutes. It made the last 20 miles of the paddle less than desirable. I'm 5' 10" 145 lbs.
I used it once and that'll be the last time. I'll suck up the return shipping charge just to not have it anymore. Moosejaw has been great!

Unexpected comfortI've had my Venture Therm a Rest for just over a year now. Tent camped with it 12 or so times now. All 3 seasons. (no glacier camping for me, yet) You cannot beat the comfort, warmth, sturdy engineering and value that this mattress offers. Its Light weight and small in my pack. I use the mini pump the the whole this inflates in less than 20 lung full breaths. The R-Value is not as high than the more spendy mattresses but if you have a good sleeping bag, who needs the extra bulk? I'ts a little noisy at first I sleep like a baby on it on I'm giving it 5 stars!

Seriously ComfortableSleep like you're at home while on the trail. This pad is insulated, lightweight, packs small, and is seriously comfortable after a long day of carrying a heavy pack. It make a little noise when moving around, but nothing like some of the reviews i've read describe--it's negligible enough for me to say it's a non-issue. It takes 14-15 full breaths for me to inflate the pad fully, you shouldn't have any problem hyperventilating if you just take your time and not try to blow it up at 100mph (seriously, slow down.. all good things come with time). It holds a lot of air, and is nice and thick, which affords you the ability to adjust the firmness of the pad by turning the valve and letting a little air out once fulling inflated and laying on the pad. Deflating, folding, and rolling the pad for its stuff sack takes only a minute or two. You would be seriously hard press to find a better pad for the price, it's actually more comfortable the other pad that cost twice the price.

great comfort for great priceI have one of the earliest Neo airs and now the Venture and these sleeping pads are amazing. The downside of blowing them up is well worth it for a great night of sleep. My wife is somewhat picky about camping and we went on a short backpacking trip and she used the venture and loved it. At this price range I imagine it would be hard to find a sleeping pad that is this as comfortable and light as the Venture.
