I love this pad. it is very compact for being a foam pad. I have yet to take it on a trip but i have laid around on it in the house and really like it. I was reading some other reviews that were saying that it is for side sleepers. this is definitely true, unless you have an uber fluffy sleeping bag that allows a littler more comfort or if you put an air mattress pad on top of it. bottom line, this is a great pad, uber light, stylish, and oh, really easy to take out and put up, just practice your accordion muscles and you got it down pat!!
"Unbeatable bang-for-buck, but bulky and thin"
This pad is durable, light, and a great insulator (keeps me very warm), but not as comfortable as an inflatable pad. It also takes up quite a bit of space, which isn't a problem if you strap it to the outside.
This is an amazing sleeping pad! Wonderfully light weight and easy to store/carry. The reflective side is a great addition since it keeps me warm even with just a light blanket during colder summer nights.
"The best for hardcore and hardcore wantabees"
I've used this for over 10 years from the sands of the Florida Keys to the hard rocks of the Canada bloodvein river to New Mexico. Covered the AT on this. It's Indestructible. Lightweight. COMFORTABLE. Easy to fold before sunrise. Bought more for relatives. They love it. Next to my Nalgene, this is my most beloved piece of gear. You can't go wrong. Bypass the blowup doll pads. They leak over time and sound like an iron lung when you move. There's nothing but sleep with these things. Life is good with a Z lite. Strap it onto the side of your pack and hike on!
My wife and I both use this and when its cold this keeps the cold coming up thru our normal sleeping pad. You can even feel your own body heat being reflected back to you. A must have when the temps drop.
I bought this pad as an affordable alternative to a cheap inflatable I had. I was sick of inflating and deflating a bulky, cheap pad every day, so a folding foam pad sounded great. It has fared well for me on alpine objectives and has held up against Sierra grit well. However, its thin construction means it is hard to have uninterrupted sleep since pressure points have developed and forced me to readjust my sleeping position a few times, something to be expected when you see how thin it is compared to other Therm-a-Rest offerings like the X-Therm.If you are on a budget and/or don't want to deal with inflating deflating sleeping pads, go for this one. If you want to have as good a rest as you can in the backcountry, spend a bit more money for something thicker and more comfortable. Thoughts:Durability: 9 - survived a crampon attack wellComfort: 4 - thin compared to other offerings on the marketWarmth: 7Packability: 6 - good packed size for a foam pad
It is very light weight and very cheap. I'm not big on sleeping pads but it seems if you go in early spring or late fall when the ground is still cold you will need a sleeping pad regardless of if you want one. It does not fit in any back pack I own but will hang from the sleeping pad holders.
These sleeping pads are perfect for children. They're cheap, the right size, and light enough for even young ones to carry. My kids lay around on them in the house, so they'll be great for indoors sleepovers, too.
"Definitely lightweight, definitely not an air mattress"
I was looking for lightweight, and that's definitely what I got. Packability isn't so good, but I knew that going in. As for comfort, it's maybe a little better than I thought, but it's no Heavenly Bed. Hips will dig in, so it's probably best to throw this under an inflatable pad in a car camping scenario.
"Simple, Lightweight and surprisingly comfortable"
I've been using inflatable pads for backpacking for a number of years but I was always concerned with popping it while on trail and have a useless piece of material for a pad. I bought this guy about a month ago and I've used it every weekend so far except for one and I have to say, spot on. I actually find that I sleep better on this than I did on my inflatable. OH ALSO, if you get the regular or long you can fold a couple of the panels by your head to make a pillow and still have a nice 3/4 length pad for your body
