The Little Motor That CouldI bought this for use on our xtherms this winter and it works pretty well. Lightweight even with the batteries installed. It has inflated two xtherms (both large) about 5 times each so far and the batteries are still holding charge. We call it "The little motor that could" because it makes the cutest little whirring sound - like if GI Joe and Barbie owned a mini Dyson, thats what it would sound like.
It takes around 3 minutes to inflate about 70ish%, then it plateaus, which for me is perfect because I dont sleep on a fully inflated pad. A few extra breaths is needed for a firmer sleep.
In summary, its light, has a long battery life, and simply does the trick! Only downside is the price, but thanks to Moosejaw rewards, this baby was free-99!

Not Dizzy Anymore! (Arguable)I use various Therm-a-Rest sleeping pads throughout the year, both motorcycle camping and hiking. The NeoAir XLites are great, but are not self-inflating, and can take 20 to 30 deep breaths to fill completely. Before getting the NeoAir Mini Pump, at higher altitudes, filling the sleeping pad could be a chore that left my flat-lander head spinning (more than normal). Now, when I set up camp, I just hook up my Mini Pump and walk away to work on something else while the Mini Pump does its thing. It's a time saver.
Very easy to use, standard AAA batteries last me two full weeks of camping, if not more, lightweight, and doesn't take up any more room in the pack than a granola bar.

Saves me going light headed but takes a whileI bought this as a car camping luxury as I was finding that i was going very lighted headed from inflating my neoair by breath alone.
It's a bit noisy and slow to inflate the mattress but gets there leaving me to get on with setting up camp or cooking.
I found the rubber nozzle sometimes comes loose, so make sure the mattress valve is well inserted and keep an eye on it. Making sure your mattress is laid out and able to inflate without obstruction helps too.
If you've space to pack /carry and the cash to buy its a nice luxury. If your going light and skint don't bother

Great ideaThis is a great idea but not the quality I have come to expect from this company. When I brought it home I went to install the batteries. After removing the plastic part to install the batteries, the metal contact point fell off and onto the ground. Lucky for me I was not out in the woods and I was able to find the part that fell off. I was able to put it back on but it is loose and will fall off again. Once I got the batteries installed it worked fine. I hope this is just a fluke occurrence. I just hope I remember to be careful when it comes time to replace the batteries.

A convenience - saves set up time. This item is a convenience. If you don't mind a few extra grams, it inflates a thermarest mattress in reasonable time. The device itself is light, but the batteries (2 x AA) carry a weight penalty. I cycle them with other devices to save weight, as this thing only gets limited use. The construction is just okay - it's only light plastic - so it needs to be treated with care. I don't expect it to last like some of my other kit, but then again, the cost isn't high. I've also used it as a hair dryer in the field... lol... scored me some laughs.

well worth the moneyI HATE when i get to the campsite and blowing up the 2 air mattress's takes more time than setting up the tent. Doesn't bother me anymore. I have 2 Big Agnes mattress's and figured id take the gamble and hope this pump worked for them. FITS AND WORKS WELL!!! Super small, pretty darn light weight and most of all; saves me from getting light headed when having to blow up mattress's. The pump is very very quiet which will make it nice for the summer nights when im warm and in need of something to cool me down....boom...i now have a fan.

Great, light weight item that will keep you from passing out on the trail!Unless, of course, you enjoy hyperventilating at need and enjoy that euphoric feeling while you slowly watch the world fade to black...,,,,Seriously though, this is a neat little gadget that adds very little pack weight. I've used it only a couple of times now, but I've inflated my Neoair a number of times by mouth on the trail. It's ok, but my two main issues are: in cold weather, you are putting moisture into the airpad, reducing it's RF factor, and the previously mentioned euphoria.,,,,It does take a couple of minutes, and I normally do put a little extra in by mouth to firm up the pad after this little gadget is done.,,,,It's also seriously fun to hand to someone who doesn't know what it is. When they open the door, it's startles them every time!

From the Mountain Tops we have good AirI bought the NeoAir Mini Pump June 2016 for an immediate trip to Philmont Scout Ranch for a 12 day backpacking backwoods trek in the mountains. 12 nights around 8500 feet above sea level. Used two AAA Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries. One night forgot and pump ran for 90 minutes. Coldest night temp was around 50 degrees. Unseasonably warm trek. Pump worked very well every night filling my NeoAir serial number F2712124 bought for trek in 2012. Fills mattress fairly fast as compared to the manual method. A couple of minutes and you are good with no additional inflation required. I'm not big on wind so this lightweight pump is worth its weight in gold as is the mattress. Both are heavenly! Cheers and thanks to Cascade Designs for great products. 50 years in scouting and counting on my Therm-a-Rest.
