Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tiny and awesome! This thing rocks! I'm always looking for a place to prop myself against when backpacking (I'm not flexible enough to comfortably sit without leaning on something) and this puppy fits the bill perfectly. Fold the sleeping pad a bit, slap it in there, and boom - you have yourself a seat. I use it with another company's sleeping pad (blasphemous, I know), but it works just fine. Just be sure to check the width of your pad before buying! Mind you, this is a seat without legs so I hope you're okay with that. But still, for the weight . . . it's perfect for keeping the pack light while still bringing along some creature comforts. What fun is hiking in to the beautiful scenery if you can't relax and enjoy it in comfort?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile and light This chair is a few ounces lighter and just as functional as the Trekker chair. Over the years, I've tried other chair kits and other types of seating, but keep coming back to the Thermarest chair kits. They're supportive and easy to use. The thing I like best about the Compack kit is that the foot end is also open. This means that, with a 66 or 72 inch Neoair, I can simply let the extra length extend beyond the chair (not folded, as shown in the product picture.) I now have all the advantages of the Trekker Lounge: padding and warmth under my legs, and the ability to leave the pad in the chair for sleeping. That's less fiddling in camp, and (since I can roll the pad inside the chair) one less stuff sack, adding another ounce to the weight savings. Yes, a chair is a luxury for most - but at 7 ounces, it's a luxury that's worth carrying.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very light, but scared to use it. I love the concept of this chair. It is very light and great for backpacking. For me personally, I was afraid I was going to break the chair and/or pop my pad. I'm 5'10", 200#s, not a large man but definitely don't do skinny jeans. The chair would probably be fine, but it just made me nervous. Also, it is not a fast setup and you have to pull your air pad out of your sleeping area to use it as a chair and then put it back before going to sleep.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best invention ever! This is the best invention ever! I make everyone jealous on backpacking trips, specially when we camp on snow or glaciers. There is nothing better than resting a tired body on a cozy seat at the end of the day. Another plus: I use it at home as well! When I have a bunch of people over for a movie night and we run out of chairs, I can pull out my chair kit for someone to be more comfi than just on a pillow without back rest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Must Have! The lightest, most comfortable camp chair made. Weighing in ounces, this camp chair is easily packed and incredibly durable. I had to get a new bed roll and the larger NEOAir XLite combined with this camp chair is the lightest weight to comfort ratio you can possibly get. If you purchase a Therm-A-Rest bed roll you have to purchase one of these.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from why not?! I have had this chair kit for over 3 years now, and am always grateful. When you're backpacking on the light, but not ULTRA-lite end, it's worth the minimal extra ounces, and barely takes up any space at all. Always the envy of my chair-less buds while we huddle around in the alpine, sipping on our evening cocoa after a long day of miles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The! I got this chair for my neo-air and used in on my thru hike in Yosemite. I love how once is on you don't need to remove it to sleep, and if you place your pad right you also have head rest when in chair mode. Light weight and takes no space in you pack. Thumbs up

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Double Duty. This little guy turns your inflatable thermarest into a comfortable padded seat. Great for sitting on the bleachers when you're not out in the mountains. The only complaint is it doesn't provide much protection for the Thermarest so be careful on wooden benches.
