The Therm-A-Rest Auriga Down Blanket is an ultralight down blanket for minimalist backpacking in mild temperatures. The wide baffles have been stuffed full with 750+ fill power down, insulating you through the night at a comfort range of 35-45°F. The 20D polyester shell and liner fabric is slick and soft for sleeping against and helps pack the blanket easily into the included stuff sack when it's time to break camp. Before you leave camp though, it's necessary for a good nights sleep, so tuck your feet into the footbox, keeping it in place through the night.

Down blankets are roomy, light and warm! This is my second down blanket (the first is still being used). I use the large and wide down blanket (1.5#) paired with the 25 inch pad (1#) and an inflatable pillow (.3#) for an insanely comfortable solution that takes up almost no space and weighs in under three pounds. The blanket foot box tucks around the bottom of the pad and draft tubes go up the sides. Loops on the blanket be attached to the pad. I show this whenever I set up camp for classes and someone almost always gets one for themselves within a week. It's a shame this isn't on display more often but I guess that makes the delight of discovery even sweeter.

packs small, warm, light, long size fits larger mammalsI to go lighter than the 3 lbs bag for non winter backpacking and decided this was how. I'm a big guy...but not particularly tall...so i was worried that this wouldn't have enough material on the sides to cover me comfortably. I got the 'long' and it's plenty big....both long and wide...the baffles on the sides really do a good job of keeping the warm air in. You can use this like a blanket or really tuck yourself almost like a mummy bag if you snap the top snap. Also the included sleeping pad attachment kit is a nice touch. Packs down to a football when its in the stuff sack, but there was also an included storage stuff sack...nice touch. ,,,,I like this bag alot. It's a well thought out, complete system.

Works as advertised...so far...I was initially concerned about cold spots as I held the bag up to the light and could see the down was not spread evenly through each baffle. Used this past weekend with the temps in the upper 40's and was very warm. I definitely prefer the blanket over a bag as I toss and turn a lot. Foot box helped keep the blanket in place during the night.

Ultra light, packs small and I sleep much better because I can move around!!!I have never slept so well while backpacking. The bottom wraps around the air mattress so it stays in place, and the sides can be attached to the mattress. I have been on several trips where I thought I would have to call for help because the zipper was stuck on my mummy bag, but never again! I can't imagine trying to get out of a mummy bag in an emergency. All I have to do now is throw the blanket off and I'm up. The blanket allows me to move around or hang a leg out if I get too warm. It's the closest thing to sleeping at home.,,,,The blanket packs up really small and it weighs just over a pound, which is incredible! I like to go light, so this works great for me. My sleep system is this blanket, a REI airrail and I use my North Face ThermoBall jacket as my pillow. This amounts to a little over 4 pounds which is lighter than most sleeping bags, and my jacket doubles as a pillow so I don't have to carry one. If the temps drop I can wear the jacket.

Great Idea, Needs a little improvementI got this for moving fast and not committing to setting up a camp. First night I used it, it was a 60 degree night and I got a little chilly. Second night was closer to 50 and I was cold. I absolutely love the design with the foot box and how it clips onto my mattress. When I got home and hung it up I did notice the baffles weren't stuffed with down and attributed getting cold to that. Don't know if it needs more down or what. I still love it, I just use it more for warmer nights.

Great quality, exactly what I was expecting.Just received this last night in the mail and was able check it out today. Although I have not been able to use it in the backcountry, I have no dought in my mind it'll hold up for a 2 maybe 3 season use. Keep in mind I live the mojave desert. My girlfriend hates mummy bags and picked up one of these blanket for her self and is over excited to use it down in havasupai here in the next two weeks! Unless I'm proven wrong, I'm giving this solid 5 stars.

Needs a Design Tune-upThis is a great design idea. At least half of the back packers I know pretty much use their sleeping bag more as a camping comforter anyway. And I know a lot of them because I am a Wilderness Manager for the Trinity Alps Wilderness. It is well made bag, but the problem is that there isn't enough down for the size of the baffles so the down shifts around (especially toward the edges) while you are sleeping. They either need to put in a few more ounces of down (preferable) or they need to tighten the baffles. I'm surprised that, with as good a design department as they have, they haven't gotten this right --cause this bag could seriously take over a lot of the summer market... I'm going to have my girlfriend take out a seam, and I'm going to add down to it from an old bag --but at this price, it should have had enough down to begin with....

warm and comfortableI purchased this down blanket to use instead of a traditional sleeping bag and I am so glad I did. It is warm and extremely comfortable. It's like I'm under my comforter at home. This is definitely worth checking out and purchasing.
