The Therm-A-Rest Auriga Down Blanket is an ultralight down blanket for minimalist backpacking in mild temperatures. The wide baffles have been stuffed full with 750+ fill power down, insulating you through the night at a comfort range of 35-45°F. The 20D polyester shell and liner fabric is slick and soft for sleeping against and helps pack the blanket easily into the included stuff sack when it's time to break camp. Before you leave camp though, it's necessary for a good nights sleep, so tuck your feet into the footbox, keeping it in place through the night.

packs small, warm, light, long size fits larger mammalsI to go lighter than the 3 lbs bag for non winter backpacking and decided this was how. I'm a big guy...but not particularly tall...so i was worried that this wouldn't have enough material on the sides to cover me comfortably. I got the 'long' and it's plenty big....both long and wide...the baffles on the sides really do a good job of keeping the warm air in. You can use this like a blanket or really tuck yourself almost like a mummy bag if you snap the top snap. Also the included sleeping pad attachment kit is a nice touch. Packs down to a football when its in the stuff sack, but there was also an included storage stuff sack...nice touch. ,,,,I like this bag alot. It's a well thought out, complete system.

Works as advertised...so far...I was initially concerned about cold spots as I held the bag up to the light and could see the down was not spread evenly through each baffle. Used this past weekend with the temps in the upper 40's and was very warm. I definitely prefer the blanket over a bag as I toss and turn a lot. Foot box helped keep the blanket in place during the night.

Ultra light, packs small and I sleep much better because I can move around!!!I have never slept so well while backpacking. The bottom wraps around the air mattress so it stays in place, and the sides can be attached to the mattress. I have been on several trips where I thought I would have to call for help because the zipper was stuck on my mummy bag, but never again! I can't imagine trying to get out of a mummy bag in an emergency. All I have to do now is throw the blanket off and I'm up. The blanket allows me to move around or hang a leg out if I get too warm. It's the closest thing to sleeping at home.,,,,The blanket packs up really small and it weighs just over a pound, which is incredible! I like to go light, so this works great for me. My sleep system is this blanket, a REI airrail and I use my North Face ThermoBall jacket as my pillow. This amounts to a little over 4 pounds which is lighter than most sleeping bags, and my jacket doubles as a pillow so I don't have to carry one. If the temps drop I can wear the jacket.
