I've used the Yavapai all throughout college as my primary book pack. It's a great size for 3 or so textbooks and notebooks plus your waterborne on the sides. It has plenty of functional and accessible pockets. The back is padded and has ventilation channels which really helps with the uncomfortable back sweats! If you're planning to store a laptop, it can hold it but you'll be limited to adding too many other books or notebooks. The backpack is durable. I've stuffed it silly and the zippers have never given way and the seams have never shown signs of stress. The chest and waist straps are also very useful when carting a bag of books. When notcarrying books, this bag makes for a great overnight bag with plenty of room for your clothing, shoes and toiletries. I highly recommend this bag as a primary book pack. If you're planning to carry a laptop often, you may want to consider a slightly larger bag, though this will definitely work If you're lugging your laptop infrequently,
