The women's North Face Venture Jacket is one of the best-selling rain jackets of all time, and is recognized for its eco-friendly construction that features a fully waterproof membrane with a breathable outer layer. The Venture is designed with pit zips to allow better airflow during hot, rainy conditions, or when layering over a mid-layer jacket. A fully adjustable hood with hidden drawcord, Velcro closure flap over the center zipper, adjustable Velcro cuff tabs, and hem cinch-cord all combine to help keep the Venture keep water out in the crappiest of downpours. This North Face jacket can stow in its own hand pocket for easier packing when the weather rocks and the sun is shining, and weighs in at an average of approximately 12 ounces. So light.

SPECIFICATIONS of The North Face Women's Venture Jacket
I ordered this one mainly because of the color (greystone blue) and I also needed a rain jacket. I got it and was really excited and put it on and it was a little too thin for me. I wanted something a little thicker. I think it is more expensive than it should be and the material felt cheap to me. It is a really thin and light jacket. I expected a little more from Northface. I will probably return it unfortunately and try a different jacket.
"Good quality shell, hood could be a little deeper"
I bought this as a shell to go over my down jacket. So far I've only had a chance to try it out in heavy wet snow and it's worked great. Except for the hood. Maybe I just have a funny shaped head but the hood isn't really quite deep enough so my head still ends up soaked.
"GREAT PRODUCT, GOOD QUALITY AND VERY FUNCTIONAL"
bought one of these jackets a couple years ago and it somehow went missing, just ordered another one couple weeks ago and love the new quality of these jackets! The fabric is breathable and quiet, unlike other rain jackets & you still have room to layer for warmth! It does the job and some, very stylish and versatile!
"Fast shipping, product fits great, love the cut of the jacket and the color is true to picture"
We have been experiencing blizzards and extreme cold, so I have not been able to wear this around here yet. I will be bringing it to New Orleans (Nor'lins) this weekend, and I think it will be perfect. The jacket has a nice cut and is slimming, but is roomy enough that I can layer a shirt and possible a light sweater underneath and be ready for anything. The hood will be perfect, they get a lot of rain and I hate having to carry an umbrella around when doing a ton of walking. It is very light, so whether I wear it or I pack it into my carryon, it will not be a burden or add to the weight of my luggage (who wants to pay a fine for overweight luggage?). I think with the zipper openings and the lightweight material, that I will not get overheated. I can't wait to wear it, I have other jackets I can wear in the rain, but they are either rubbery (and smell), so bright that l look like a off shore fisherman, or old lady dowdy.
"Hope I could have got the Greystone blue one"
I got this jacket in grey using my rewards when there was no Greystone blue in stock. Just noticed it was back in stock. How I wish I could make an exchange, but I have thrown away the receipt. Sigh. However, for the jacket, I like it very much, although I have not got any chance to wear it. It is very light weight and comfortable. Another thing is I do wish there is lining with it as the resolve jacket.
"This is strictly a jacket to use as a waterproof layer"
I must admit that I bought this jacket hoping to use it as a warm layer that is also waterproof. Maybe I didn't do my research up front, but upon receiving it, I realized it is strictly a waterproof layer (ie, wear it over your regular jacket or sweater - whatever warms ya'.) Just a heads up for those who may think the same thing I did!
"Great overall jacket. Too many good things to say in 100 characters."
I love this jacket. It looks great and performs even better. As a shell I don't feel the elements one bit when I'm skiing or walking the dogs in the early morning. Rainproof but extremely breathable and compfortable. Great jacket to layer in the winter or wear as one piece throughout the rainy spring and summer. With the tough construction and durability, I doubt Ill be needing another Venture but that wont stop from getting one!
"Would probably keep you dry in a hurricane..."
I took this jacket to Belize with me, and then to Hawaii. I also live in Syracuse, NY which is notorious for rainy springs (and snowy winters...you may have heard...). This jacket has kept me dry through everything, and there have been some pretty impressive downpours. It's very light and loose enough to be worn over other layers ,so it's perfect for hiking. I also row for my school's crew team and I am able to wear it to practice if I need to stay dry, and it really does the job. Highly recommend (unless you want to get wet...that's cool too)!!!
Does its job amazingly; keeps me dry when it needs to, and has fairly good breathability. Knocks down the wind a fair amount as well, which is a plus. Also has a nice adjuster strap on the hood to keep it from going over your eyes like a blindfold which is always nice too. All around a dece jacket.
