"Love it!" 04/18/12
I bought this a while back and am just now getting around to writing a review for it. I bought it mainly for harsh winters because I'm a wuss when it comes to wind. It is zip-in compatible, which is the main reason why I bought it. Being able to zip it in with my khumbu really helps for those extra cold days! It's not as breathable as I expected it to be (but then again, it's windproof, so how breathable CAN it be?!) but the armpit zippers are a nice touch.

I love this jacket!! I bought it to use as a winter coat and love how I can zip my osito jacket inside of it!! I bought this jacket in the light blue color. I've only worn it outside a few times, but it was vvery warm!! :) BUY THIS!!!

It's super cute. I got it on sale and I believe it was the best shopping decision I have ever made. It is great to wear to windy football games or just walking around campus. It is a must have for anyone going to college or at college. Love the Maddness!
"Good Shell Jacket" 09/21/11
This was a nice jacket overall, but it did not work for me. I would recommend as other reviewers mentioned to go one size up to accommodate for extra fleece layers. I usually wear size small but was too tight paired with my khumbu and denali jackets. The jacket material was too stiff, I thought it would be looser and not so noisy. I thoroughly researched this jacket because I wanted to be able to have an insulated winter jacket or good shell, this just didn't work for me because it was too tight with the fleece and not warm enough without it. I ended up returning it and got the insulated inlux jacket which I love! Great jacket if you get the right size and have the right insulating layers.

Bought this jacket to wear as a shell for skiing and to wear around campus on cold days as a rain jacket. Cannot say enough great things - North Face fleeces zip into it, so no need to buy an expensive double layer coat if you already have a fleece. It's fashionable enough to wear around for daily business but still be protected from the elements (at least in the casual PNW anyway). I'm 5'3", 125 lb and bought a M so that I could wear my fleece underneath. I've tried on a S, which fit but didn't allow my arms to move freely enough for skiing, especially when layered with a fleece.
"The perfect shell!" 03/01/11
I love this jacket. I'm not a fan of hoods, so I like that I can remove the hood that comes with it. It also makes for a comfortable, wind and rain resistant little number. I do find that with a liner (I purchased a redpoint jacket--perhaps a bit of overkill but HOOOO BOY it's warm) it's a bit of a snuggier fit, but without it's quite comfortable and can fit over a hoodie or a big sweater with no problems and still look nice. An overall great jacket!

I just bought the Varius Guide Jacket for a ski trip to Utah. I searched for and tried on a lot of jackets and finally chose this one. I live in Florida and was really looking for a jacket that wouldn't break the bank only to be stored away for most of the year. The fact that it is zip-in compatible was perfect because I just bought a matching fleece and created a perfect jacket! And the jacket alone is light-weight, comfortable and perfect for chilly/rainy days!
"Cute coat...sizing however is a little small." 02/03/11
I really loved this coat upon arrival. However it was a little on the small siza, and not as heavy duty as I thought it would be. Although you can zipper in the denali and it would be perfect. The looks of it are great! One flaw mine had was the zipper, it didnt want to zip. I am planning on returning this coat and exchanging it for another.

It replaced a NF Boundary jacket and I am much happier with this one! Does an awesome job blocking the wind and rain, highly recommended!! I did have an issue with the zipper at first too, but it's better now.

"Absolutely love this jacket!" 02/02/11
I bought this jacket to use with my Denali when we went skiing. Very flattering, lots of useful features, and now I have a true 3-in-1 jacket that looks great separate or together. Very useful by itself blocking the rain and wind, looks great in white!
