"Warm and cozy, but quite fitted" 12/21/11
(cont) The rest of the coat is also quite fitted when zipped (34C here, and I don't think I could be much bigger or wear a lot of thick layers in this jacket) but the fit keeps the wind from blowing up into the coat, which is great. The fur is removable if you aren't into fur, you can adjust the waist and cuffs. The cuffs have this extra elastic sleeve bit that you can tuck your glove or mittens into to keep out the cold/wind. It has a 2-way zipper, can be snapped all the way down over it, and even the hood has insulation in it, which is surprisingly heat-retaining. It's Hyvent material, which like my last, TNF coat, has kept me dry in snow, sleet, & rain. It's totally worth the moola.

(cont'd) So, I sent that back and, after a lot of researching, took a chance and ordered the Tremaya, even though there aren't many reviews about it yet and it wasn't available to try on in any of TNF stores around here. I've worn it out all around Boston in windy-ish 30 degrees and below so far, with only a long-sleeved shirt underneath, and have been quite warm and comfortable. I am 5'9" and 140lbs and the medium fits very well and hits mid-thigh. I was concerned at first, because it felt very fitted (not too tight, but very fitted) around the shoulders and armpits. (TBC)
"Warm and cozy, but quite fitted" 12/18/11
I am always freezing, all winter long, so I was looking for one of those puffy coats that's "like wrapping yourself in your comforter before leaving the house." I originally ordered the Triple C coat, thinking it was going to be warm, cozy, and the most magical coat ever, but when it arrived... it just didn't seem that warm. It didn't seem like it was going to be very water resistant and there wasn't a lot of down, especially in the arms -- it felt like the wind was going to blow right through it. (I also read that in the last year or two they changed the way that they make the Triple C, and that it's not as warm anymore.) (to be continued)
