Thermoball technology is a revolutionary style of synthetic insulation developed by The North Face to bridge the gap between synthetic and down. Unlike continuous-filament materials, Thermoball is comprised of clusters that mimic goose down to create the pockets where heat is trapped. The Women's Thermoball Full Zip Jacket utilizes this technology. It is very compressible and light, and offers reliable thermal insulation (equivalent to 600-fill down). Now that I've finished that science lecture, here's what you need to know: when you're out in the elements and the weather takes a turn, you'll be happy you have this puppy on you to keep you toasty warm and happy (that's what it all boils down to).

"really nice lightweight and very warm especially considering weight."
bought this for my mom for her birthday because she is always cold...she's not cold anymore. probably not a top pick for anything hardcore outside but for keeping you warm around town and looking good it is perfect!
I live in Bozeman, and the weather here can get pretty crazy! I got this jacket for christmas and have been wearing it just about everyday! It is so lightweight but provides great warmth for when i need it! I hate wearing bulky coats while driving and this one is just perfect for in the car. I've also worn it on mild days to the dog park with my dogs and the jacket is great. I also love the color. I got the navy blue one with the orange inside and I have gotten so many compliments on the jacket and the color. It is one of my favorite things to wear! We go to yellowstone NP a lot and I know this will hold up for when we go hiking! :)
I bought this jacket to pair with my Patagonia Re-Tool Snap-T Pullover (http://tinyurl.com/myhd8sr). Bought this down jacket in a Medium and it fits well and has enough room for layering (5'5" and 125lbs). This synthetic down jacket may not be the absolute warmest jacket on the market, but it is the top of the line in synthetic down and it is very thin, flexible, soft, and compressible. This is a great piece for layering! Fits well over a fleece and under a shell for the ultimate warm and waterproof outfit! If you are not mountaineering, this jacket will do the trick for sure! Even just paired with a long sleeve t-shirt, this jacket keeps you pretty warm in 30-40 degree F weather! I was hesitant to spend so much money, but after trying on all of the down jackets at my local outdoor gear store, I decided this one was the most comfortable! I would recommend this jacket for sure. Glad I bought it!
"Surprisingly warm, entirely content with the jacket"
Recently having moved from the south to DC, I was not ready for the cold weather here. I chose this jacket because despite being thin, it was supposed to be as warm as 600 count down jacket. Big bulky jackets make me feel like a marshmallow and constrained so this jacket seemed ideal. When I first received it I thought there was no way this jacket could be warm, it really is thin; but I wore it out when it was about 25 degrees with wind and felt absolutely nothing! Everyone else was bundled up and huge jackets with scarves and were still chilly, while I walked around in this and literally felt like there was an impenetrable barrier surrounding my torso. My face and legs were really cold, but every place covered by the jacket was warm. I've even worn it on snowy/icy days with similar results. So, overall, AMAZING jacket!
"This is a great jacket if you want a warm jacket for fall or early winter"
I bought this jacket for my mom. She really liked this jacket, but she returned it because she thought it would be a warmer jacket. It's great for fall or early winter, but it will not be your go-to mid-winter jacket.
"Very warm, awesome fit, and great color"
I bought this jacket right before heading on a trip to camp up at 10500 feet this fall. It got down into the 20s at night, and I was so glad I had my Thermoball. I layered it up with a thin sweatshirt and stayed completely warm. I have yet to test how it performs when wet, but I expect great things. The fit is super; I ordered the small, and it is form fitting bit still loose enough that I can layer lots underneath without feeling too tight. It packs super small too so it doesn't take up much space. The color is pretty much spot on with the picture here, but even more awesome in person.
