Thermoball technology is a revolutionary style of synthetic insulation developed by The North Face to bridge the gap between synthetic and down. Unlike continuous-filament materials, Thermoball is comprised of clusters that mimic goose down to create the pockets where heat is trapped. The Women's Thermoball Full Zip Jacket utilizes this technology. It is very compressible and light, and offers reliable thermal insulation (equivalent to 600-fill down). Now that I've finished that science lecture, here's what you need to know: when you're out in the elements and the weather takes a turn, you'll be happy you have this puppy on you to keep you toasty warm and happy (that's what it all boils down to).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The product is just as described and shipped fast. To begin, I reason I decided to purchase the Thermoball jacket was that is one of the warmer jackets without all the bulk. I typically do not buy The Northface brand due to being petite and the clothes just do not fit well, this jacket is an exeption to that statement. Probably the one negative to me is that I prefer a matte look to my jackets and this has a bit of a shine; nothing major like some. Overall, this is one of the better jackets if you prefer a more taylored fit. With that being said, I purchased a women's XS and I am 5'4" and 90lbs....In my opinion, it helps to know the profile of person writing the review. ,,,,Happy Hunting!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect weight! Awesome lightweight, yet warm, jacket. Love the streamline fit. I got the black (very classy) in medium. I'm 5'3" and weigh 102 pounds and the medium is a great fit. I wear the Osito jacket underneath if it's cold. This is a perfect jacket to throw on for dog walking or going out. Dress up or down, it's good anytime. In Georgia, I'll be wearing this until really warm weather in June. Definitely a 3-season jacket, even 4 seasons, if you need a light top layer over a t-shirt on summer nights! You'll probably be glad if you size up, because it's still slim fitting with or without layers. Now I know what all the hype is about the Thermoball jacket!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from amazing jacket! I live in Bozeman, and the weather here can get pretty crazy! I got this jacket for christmas and have been wearing it just about everyday! It is so lightweight but provides great warmth for when i need it! I hate wearing bulky coats while driving and this one is just perfect for in the car. I've also worn it on mild days to the dog park with my dogs and the jacket is great. I also love the color. I got the navy blue one with the orange inside and I have gotten so many compliments on the jacket and the color. It is one of my favorite things to wear! We go to yellowstone NP a lot and I know this will hold up for when we go hiking! :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great fit. love the style I got this in cosmic blue with flashy orange interior. It looks violet/purple on the outside to me which I love!!! TNF = We need more cosmic blue products!! I purchased the Medium sized jacket here on clearance for a great deal - 40 bucks off. It fits me very nice. I'm a medium average built, top heavy (36DD), petite woman (5'2) and the fit is still flattering. I don't mind the sleeves being somewhat long on me. Not too tight in the breast area and it has princess seams so with my short stature the fit doesn't make me look like Sponge Bob. This is packable too! Perfect for travel and layering. In lower temps layering is a must because the cold air will probably seep into the seams.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very warm, awesome fit, and great color I bought this jacket right before heading on a trip to camp up at 10500 feet this fall. It got down into the 20s at night, and I was so glad I had my Thermoball. I layered it up with a thin sweatshirt and stayed completely warm. I have yet to test how it performs when wet, but I expect great things. The fit is super; I ordered the small, and it is form fitting bit still loose enough that I can layer lots underneath without feeling too tight. It packs super small too so it doesn't take up much space. The color is pretty much spot on with the picture here, but even more awesome in person.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprisingly warm, entirely content with the jacket Recently having moved from the south to DC, I was not ready for the cold weather here. I chose this jacket because despite being thin, it was supposed to be as warm as 600 count down jacket. Big bulky jackets make me feel like a marshmallow and constrained so this jacket seemed ideal. When I first received it I thought there was no way this jacket could be warm, it really is thin; but I wore it out when it was about 25 degrees with wind and felt absolutely nothing! Everyone else was bundled up and huge jackets with scarves and were still chilly, while I walked around in this and literally felt like there was an impenetrable barrier surrounding my torso. My face and legs were really cold, but every place covered by the jacket was warm. I've even worn it on snowy/icy days with similar results. So, overall, AMAZING jacket!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight, trendy, perfection! Love the Thermoball This jacket fits right and is very light weight. It's not bulky like a lot of jackets of this style and it looks more fitted in the waist, giving it a more feminine look. I plan to wear this a lot in the winter and it's light enough to wear as a layer for those trips to the North country and to the Rockies--it's easy to pack when traveling! Love the fact the sleeves don't ride up when I reach for something. The extra pockets on the inside of the jacket will come in handy and the hidden elastic pull cord on the bottom for keeping snow out and warmth in is easily accessible by pulling the cord in the pocket, so clever! I am 100% satisfied with the Thermoball in the Jaiden Green color. I purchased a medium and wear size 8 so it's pretty true to size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stylish, lightweight, and comfortable jacket I bought this jacket as a gift for my girlfriend and she loves it. For her, on the really cold days she used it as a layer underneath her bigger coat. This worked for her since it is so light and thin (it's so lightweight I thought they shipped me an empty box). When it was a milder winter day, she was able to wear this jacket alone. In addition, she received numerous compliments on the style and color (Borealis Blue).
