"My Go to Hoodie"  11/04/11

This hoodie was a life saver when I went to The Alps. It is a warm fleece style where it can substitute for a light jacket, and light enough not to be heavy or bulky. I found the fit to be a perfect, but sizes do run a little small. I would normally go for a small (5'5'' 125lbs), but needed a medium in this hoodie. When I tried on the large the waist was the only thing that seemed to get larger (see Ellens review about the kangaroos). I love the pockets, and with the medium I don't think they stick out at all. The hood on this is amazing for blocking wind, and doesn't blow down. This sweatshirt is all I needed for windy hikes with temperatures in the 50-60 degree range. Nice job North Face.

"Good, Not Great"  10/29/11

I am a standard medium size when it comes to North Face gear. I loved everything about this hoodie in the photo, but when it arrived and I tried it on, it felt too big and roomy for a medium. If you want to wear bulky clothing underneath, then you might be OK. For me though, it wore like a size Large. The major factor for the big thumbs down though: the pockets. They have a rouched-look at the openings (see photo) and from the side, it looks like I'm carrying a baby kangaroo in my belly. Gives an overall 'too loose and baggy' in that area, and no woman wants her waist looking like that, trust me. Sorry, but it's going back.
