This is a very stylish and beautifully made coat if your target climate is above freezing, which mine is not, boo hoo. The coat is gorgeous enough to wear with pride anywhere, especially Paris in the rain. I live in Iowa so even at 34 degrees it was not warm for me, there just isn't enough down filling and no soft, warm additions like cuffs at wrists and neck. The outer fabric would be awesome in the rain, but for snow and cold just too plastic-feeling. This would be a great choice if you live along Interstate 40 or further south.
I spent a lot of time looking at many brands of parkas for my 4 block walk from the train station in downtown philly. It can be quite cold and very windy. Well, after I narrowed it down and finally picked the North Face Suzanne...somewhat because it can be used as 2 jackets and it has some womanly form to it. It is very soft, warm (inner jacket), great length for me (I'm 5'1" and petite) and stylish all rolled into one. When I went searching for the best price guess where I ended up? You guessed it...here at MOOSEJAW. Awesome customer service and quick shipping...this was the first time I've ordered from them.
Absulutely nothing bad write about this coat. Its very fashionable, comfy and protects well from the cold. Since the coat has double lair you can use that as in not so cold days. In only really cold days ( Like 15 degrees and below) you will have to wear something under this jacket since it has only 550 goose down. Overall protects well your upper body.
Switched over to the Suzanne this year after wearing the Metropolis for years. It has a similar super stylish tailored fit like the Metropolis and it is waterproof. It does run a bit smaller, so if you are an XS in the Metropolis, get the S in the Suzanne. Moosejaw had the best price on this coat...so grab it while it is available.
I was looking for a waterproof winter coat. I ordered the North Face Arctic Parka and this coat and the same time. I am returning the Arctic Parka after trying on this coat. The advice of others for the Triclimate trench was accurate. I sized up one size and the fit is perfect. The coat is flattering and does not look bulky. Even for someone petite (5'2") the coat's length is great.
I bought this jacket because I am visiting ND and MI this winter. I wear a small (0-4) but I went with the medium so I can fit bulky sweaters underneath. This jacket is very versatile, especially for work travel, because I can take one jacket but have 3 options. Wearing the outer jacket alone will work well as a nice looking rain trench also. I was debating between this jacket and the Patagonia Tres but chose this one because it appears longer, technical descriptions indicated the Suzanne might have more waterproof protection, and I liked the reversible hood. I also found a great coupon code that was only for North Face products.
Generous length will keep me warm down to mid-thigh. I like the variety of wearing combinations. Substantial warmth with 550 downfill. Great looking style with the fitted waistline (now I really have to shed pounds, thanks) but my favorite part is the hood and the color Graphite; I can wear the hood with my Moosejaw aviator hat or not, and the color goes with anything I wear. Fast 3-day delivery: ordered at the store Saturday morning and arrived by 10:30 AM on Tuesday!

I was warm. My boyfriend, with his 4 layers was not. This is a guy that only gets cold when he's hunting in 20F weather. I win, and so will you! (also awesome for the normal 12 inches of snow that blows through sometimes too)

So excited I picked up this jacket and now looking forward to a full blast of winter weather this season. I needed something that could cover me in two climates (Atlanta, GA and Germany) and this triclimate combo will make traveling so much easier! I love the length of this trench, hitting mid-thigh and the size is absolutely perfect (I'm 5'10"/140 lbs and ordered a medium). Black looks super sleek and slim and it's so warm!
