The North Face Women's Suzanne Triclimate Jacket is a 3-in-1 long jacket that will take you from fall all the way through to spring. The Suzanne Triclimate features a trench coat and a liner, each ready to be worn alone or zipped together for a bomber collaboration of warmth and protection. The trench is the outer shell, 37 inches in length, and made of HyVent 2L polyester fabric that will keep you dry and block the wind. The insulated liner is 34 inches in length, packed with 550 fill down inside a polyester taffeta that will easily slide in and out of the outer shell. Is it rainy and warm? Go with the outer trench, wear the hood up or remove it if it'll mess your carefully combed hairs. Is it dry but cold? Go with just the liner for toasty warmth. Is it the worst winter day you can remember in awhile? Double up!

I wish I had gotten one soonerAs someone who is 6ft tall and long arms, I ordered a medium and I am very satisfied with the fit of this coat. The length of the outer trench reaches both past my wrists and to the top of my knees. The color(blue) looks exactly like the picture which is always a plus for me. Most importantly, as college student who spends most days outside with Michigan's ever changing weather I'm always using the two coat system to my advantage. The outer trench is great in rain, the inner coat is great for colder days, and together they are like pair fantastically. So far the on'y downside I have come across was the price, which is more than most can throw away on a coat.

Very warm, wind/waterproof.First - I got the Moonlight Ivory. The actual item is slightly different than pictured. What is depicted is that the inner, insulated layer is pink; the outer, trench is ivory/grey.,,,,The item I received has baby-pink (not the coral-pink as shown online) satin hood-lining, but the inner, insulated layer is the same ivory/grey as the other layer. So, a bit of a disappointment. Now I have two (or three, depending on how you look at it) ivory jackets.,,,,Second, all of the reviews say to size up. Well, I'm always a large, and got a large. And found it to be....large. Larger.,,,,Love the coat. Wish it was more pink (as shown). Wish it fit - I'll be returning for M, if possible.

Wonderful CoatI purchased this coat a few weeks ago because the wool coat i have to wear to work isn't always warm enough. I LOVE this coat. It is warm. It is wind proof and it keeps me dry. On top of all that, the styling makes my waist look smaller - can't beat that. I am 5'5" and usually wear an 8 or 10 or a woman's medium. I debated buying the medium but the website suggested a large, so I went with it. The large fits nicely except that I would have preferred the sleeves and hem to be slightly shorter. I have to fold the sleeves up one hem. I probably will get it altered before next winter. All in all, a great purchase.

I love this (these?) coat(s)!People keep telling me how stylish and urban I look! But I don't care- I'm just so happy to be warm and dry in spite of the constant downpour we experience in the Winter months on my island home in the Puget Sound. I commute to the city regularly on boats and buses and I needed something I could walk miles in and still be dry when I got to my appointments- and I found it. This coat is the bomb. And I love the versatility of the removable liner. The look is sleek enough that I can wear it to a job interview over a blazer and look completely professional while it is made well enough and hearty enough that I can wear it on weekend walks in the forest. When it rains everyday, you walk in the rain. That's just how we roll out here.

Not a lumpy bag and it performsI bought probably the original version of this jacket: the outer layer was Gortex (better) and the insulated layer was some microfiber (worse). That was more than a decade ago. It got a little worn where my back pack or shoulder bag straps were, so turned in the old jacket and I bought this version. It is a very useful jacket especially on those wet cold days. And its versatility is great for travel because if you bring one jacket, it has to do it all. It is fairly trim, which makes it tailored enough for urban walking around, and practical for walking hikes. I don't think that I would want to be without one. I find its cut sharper looking than the competition (Patagonia, etc)

Great investmentI bought this jacket for the winter but seeing as the northeast hasn't had it yet, I haven't been able to get full use. I have however been able to wear both the inner and outer shell separately which made the purchase of this jacket even more substantial. The outer shell is great as a rain jacket and the inner shell is great as an everyday jacket in mild weather (it's also reversible which is a great feature). I ordered a size small in black (I'm 5' 5", 140 lbs) and it fits perfect. Definitely would recommend to anyone who has a harsh winter ahead!

Runs smallI loved this jacket but the sleeves were too short so I had to send it back. Thought I might be able to pull it off but the inner down coat sleeves landed in the middle of my forearms. Terrific coat if it fits you. I ordered a large hoping it would work, I'm 6 feet tall. I have some other North Face coats from the past few years that fit perfectly. Guess they changed their size pattern on this one.

Not a Warm Coat, The Wind rips through the sleevesIt is 32 degrees here and I'm cold walking the dog. The wind whips through the sleeves, even though a have a long sleeve shirt, a warm fleece and this coat on. The hood is not lined, it is simply the outer material. I bought this coat thinking it would be warm because I paid a lot of money for it. I am disappointed. This is a good coat if you are inside a car, but not for walking the dog.
I was wondering if the hood is detachable and down-filled? Also, can it be worn with the liner?

The hood is not down filled. It's a really awesome coat though!

The inner layer coat for the 'black coat'. Is the inner layer coat black inside and outside of it. I've seen where it's grey and black. Please confirm it is ALL black inside and out with NO grey. Thank you.

Hiya Liz! Thanks for your question. The version we have is black with grey liner jacket. It is exactly how it is shown in the Moosejaw Shopping Network video on this product page.
According to the vendor, this jacket is discontinued and will not been replaced by a different style knee length Tri-Climate jacket.
The closest alternative is The North Face Women's Arctic Down Parka. It is similar in warmth but it doesn't have a removable liner. You can find it here: http://www.moosejaw.com/moosejaw/shop/product_The-North-Face-Women-s-Arctic-Down-Parka_10251471_10208_10000001_-1_
