The Women's Paramount Peak Convertible Pant could be described as a three-in-on, but I am affraid you won't take me seriously. For Starter, these redesigned pants are TNF's best selling convertable pants. They convert into shorts, by zipping the legs off, but even better, you can have euro-capre look, which by the way or as the cool kids say BTW, the euro look is all the rage on the runway right now. Durable, midweight, abrasion-resistant nylon is perfect for globetrotting, day hikes at Stony Creek, or my favorite, bacce on vacay. Constructed wasit with internal drawstring, elastic on back belt-loops for zipped off leg storage, front flap cargo pockets, and back pockets use velcro. The North Face designed these guys with 100% Nylon Faille fabric, which is labeled Bluesign, meaning it was produced using tools and techniques which improve the social standards of the supply chain. I like that.

"Huge improvement on the Paramount Porter" 12/21/10
These zip-off pants are an improvement on the Paramount Porter pants I have owned for years. Unlike the Porter, the Peak pants have more room in the hips and longer shorts. They aren't quite as feminine as the Porter, but are much more practical for sports such as climbing. The pockets are larger and lower so they can be accessed even with a climbing harness. I love to wear these on chilly mornings of climbing which quickly turn into warm afternoons on the cliff.Another must have feature is the inner drawstring. This has been a lifesaver on 2-3 week long backpacking trips where weight-loss is inevitable. It certainly saves having to pack safety pins.
"Love these versatile pants! Great for summer!" 11/12/10
I own three pairs of these in different colors and will probably order another pair in a different color. These are terrific pants for the summer; especially if you go camping and you want to wear shorts, but when it gets cooler or you want to keep the bugs off you can wear them as pants. Color coded zippers and nice pockets are a plus. It is difficult for me to find technical pants that fit my petite size or slim waist, but these do the trick. The shorts also cut off right above the knee- not too long, not too short. The only pants better than these are the First Ascent mountain guide lite pants, but of course they are not convertible.
