Thanks for reaching out to us. I used to have a 130 lb malamute named 'Knuckle-Lover'. Thank you so much for including your height, but without accurate measurements of other parts of your body, I can't say how well the jacket will cover your hips. But I can come up with some basic calculations. Based on your height (5'6" equaling 66") your head is most likely 9.4173228" in length. Using that, I can infer that your neck (on average) is 4.3", making neck and head 13.7" (rounding down, of course). Using that plus the length of the jacket's center back (29") we come up with 42.7", which would leave us 23.3" of your height left, which would be your legs. Now while it's stated that 32" is the average leg length for a woman of your height, a lot of people prefer using the "45%" ratio, meaning, your legs are 45% of your entire height. Using this ratio, your legs would be 29.7" in length. I'm sure you've noticed that in both of those measurements, the jacket would be coming down lower, thus, covering your hips and seat!!! Math is power! Hope this helped you out!
