The North Face Women's Aconcagua Jacket is a lightweight down jacket for daily life and day hikes in the cold of winter. Puffy enough to let others know you're surrounded by plenty of 550 fill down to make it in the snowy outdoors, but not so much that you're looking like a marshmallow. The diamond shaped baffles keep the down in place while flattering your figure in an active, slimmer fit. Zippered hand pockets are there to shelter your gloves when not on your hands and even hold onto your phone when you're not busy texting your best pal. A wind flap over the front zipper and elastic cuffs deter drafts from sneaking their way inside, so you can power walk from class to class or hike the snowy trails. Drop the weight but not the warmth with this insulator.

Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect jacket for weekends I bought this three weeks ago and I've warn it every weekend. Now, I don't have to just watch my kids get into their cozy North Face jackets. I have one too! It is so light yet has kept me warm on nippy fall days. The metallic gray color with fuschia accents is stylish and goes with everything, even a sporty skirt. It has a flattering fit. That is important to me since I am a little on the heavy side and many jackets make me look even bulkier. I wish the North Face made petite sizes. However, I was expecting the arms to be extremely too long for me, but they are not too too long. Very happy with my purchase. I will get lots of use out of it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great color but thinner than they were before! I got this thinking it would be similar to my previous North Face Aconcagua jacket I purchased a couple of years ago. It is FAR less bulky than my old one, but it has lost some of the warmth. Also, it is lacking previous features of soft lining in the inner collar and pockets. It seems cheaper quality than they used to be, but it's good for a fashionable coat. The sizing is also different than a few years ago (my old one is a Large, but I had to get a Medium in this one - and there is still plenty of room). I do love the soft lavendar color!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect coat! Like baby bear's porridge, the best way I can describe this coat is just right. It's not a jumbo marshmallow; it doesn't pack down to the size of a dime - it holds its own in this perfect place of existence between the two. The small fits perfectly: a bit roomy in the arms and tight in the hips for me, but I've got XS arms and M hips. So it should fit a true small like a glove. The angles and placement of the stitches are actually flattering (which is saying a lot for a puffy coat, no?). The material has a look to it that I'd describe as neither matte nor shiny, exactly: more of a... sheen?? Whatever, it's NICE. :) I'll be wearing it all winter. Thanks TNF!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this jacket I bought this jacket a few weeks ago and it was a great purchase. At first glance the jacket doesn't seem very thick but once I put it on, it is very warm. I love the color and the fact it's not the typical black color. I wear it with everything. The only reason I give it 4 stars is that I wish it was a tad longer. Other than that, it's a great jacket and for a very good price. For your reference, im 5'7" and 130 lbs and I got a smal. Im sure a medium would've been fine but I don't like the bulky look.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from North face Aconcagua jacket Luminous Pink I bought this jacket for my daughter for Christmas. I ordered the Luminous Pink, in the picture it looked bright pink, when I received it, it looked like kinda plum pink. I was disappointed, but it was to close to Christmas to return. My daughter likes the coat and says it is warm, just not the color she wanted.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I bought this jacket for all winter activities in the chilly state of Maine. I'm 5'6" 130 lbs, the medium fits perfect with room for a thin fleece layer underneath. It is a bit more shiny that I would like, but pleased overall.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Runs slightly large I bought an XL so I could layer under it. The outside fabric isn't as soft as I expected: it feels as if its waterproof but that's not stated in the description. Under a ski jacket, it doesn't compact as much as I expected. I bought the metallic silver, a color that's face flattering with a scarf. It's loose cut and runs a bit large so I look a bit large, but I kept it because it's warm and comfortable. I will wash it to see if the exterior softens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warms Me Up! Love the brightness of this color really glad I went with this one, have other colors and wanted to try a new color. Love the quality and how warm jacket is. Easy to clean and true to size, love the fitting of it!

Would this be warm enough to ski in for a few hours, given average cold weather/not below freezing?

Asked by: Megan
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! You bring up an excellent question. We've had plenty of customers who've used this for skiing, no problem. I'd just recommend layering underneath. Hope this helped you out!

Is the black Anaconda jacket shiny? In the pictures it looks that way. But the ones I've seen in the stores are just a regular flat black.

Asked by: Ara43
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! TNF Aconcagua Jacket in black is matte finished, but looks glossy in the light. I hope this helps and doesn't confuse!

What temperatures is this jacket best suited for?

Asked by: girlmom
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! Actually, this coat does not have a temperature rating. In fact, most coats do not have temperature ratings. This is for several reasons. Mainly, it's because warmth is a subjective thing, unique to each person. Not only that, but there are other factors that can affect a person's (jacket's) warmth: wind, humidity, activity level, what else your wearing, etc. However, there are still helpful hints you can use to guide you. Best bet will be to check the insulation. The higher the fill, the warmer the jacket. That should be your basic rule of thumb. For this jacket, it has a 550 fill power down. That's a good sign that this jacket will be keeping you warm. Hope this helped you out!

Why does the black look so boxy and the other colors look fitted?

Asked by: Sandstorm
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us. You bring up a great point. As I'm sure you noticed, the black is the only color where we used a real person to model the jacket. While the other colors had mannequins to show the form and fitted look of the jacket, our model wanted to show that you can also get this jacket in a larger size, in case you wanted to layer underneath. Hope this helped you out!
