Needed a lightweight yet strong pack to fulfill my daily need of urban hiking walking to work in all types of weather including a Buffalo blizzard. Needed room for hauling my lunch, a library book or kindle (waterproof), spare set of scrubs, with room for a stop off @ the grocery to grab a few items for dinner on my way home. What I didn't need was an almost neverending zippered compartments that become a magnet for items that I can live without when I'm the one hauling. Outside mesh pocket holds a few ziplock baggies (room for more) which contain items like tissues, couple tylenol, pad, few postit notes & pen. Important stuffs like cash, debit, DL stay in my pocket. D rings located on the straps - perfect for attaching a key chain LED light & whistle, small bottle of hand sanitizer (when you use the shoe leather express there's a whole lotta hand shaking going on with fellow passengers).Added bonus is it's perfect for a traditional day pack when I hit the local trails.
Great day pack that lets you skip carrying a pack cover in case there is rain the forecast. Works well in the city or on a canoe trip. I used it when jumping off a boat in Thailand and swimming to the shore. The waterproof zipper to the mesh pocket doesn't make much sense.
