Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the money if you're serious about winter camping This is a well designed tent. I had no trouble in 30 mph winds and the snow rolled right off. The double vestibules give you lots of space to store wet gear. The glow in the dark zipper pulls and the highly reflective guy lines and trim are extra nice when the sun goes down too. It is a little on the heavy side but it is a 3 person double wall tent after all and if you'll hardly notice if you're pulling a sled anyway. My only complaint is with the instructions. I'd suggest experimenting with the set-up once or twice before using it on the trail. There are definitely easier and harder ways to attach the rainfly and vestibules but you wouldn't know that by reading the instructions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very well build and user friendly. I have enjoyed using this tent. I have used it in temps well below freezing and in high winds. It has preformed well in these condition as well as conditions in spring, summer and fall. The vestibule and footprint are excellent added shelter/ moister barriers and are must have additions for this tent. This tent is heavy for one person to carry but will easily accommodate two to three people and their gear so it can be divided up between the occupants for easier packing. I have used many other tents in the past and this one has definitely answered all my needs in the field.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The tent to take when your life's on the line! The VE 25 is the premier expedition quality tent whether on Aconcagua, Denali or any of the other 7 summits. Yeah, it's a bit heavy, but there's no better tent when the winds are whipping at 60+ mph or the air temp is -10 deg F. The tent goes up easily with 2 people, but not that tough for even one person as long as it's not too windy. It's called a 3-person tent, but realistically, only two people with expedition gear really fit into these. Three in an emergency. The vestibules are sized for backpack, boots, poles and everything else you don't need in the tent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazingly Resistant To High Winds Great tent overall. On a Sierra Club trip to the Collegiate Peaks to do multiple 14k's. Tent was nice, roomy, but overkill for most of the trip. Then the second to the last night a rain storm come through at approximately 9K' elevation and the winds gusted so hard we watched a guy in a TNF 3 season Tadpole having the top of the tent collapse under wind load and pop back up repeatedly, the Tadpole finally shredded. What was amazing was in the same winds, the VE-25 just kind of shuddered and wasn't really taxed in anyway. We took the guy in with the ripped up tent. When the rain got really heavy and sideways, even then we could keep the front door 2/3 unzipped for ventilation due to the vestibule. Biggest snow on a separate trip was 3' over night which was easy for that tent. My oldest son pitched it in the back yard and it could not stand up to our 14 month old German Shepherd by himself with a whole night to kill - thus the tent's storied career was over.
