The North Face Tadpole 2 Tent is a backpacking tent for yourself and a buddy to explore the open trail. The three poles are hubbed and color-coded for quick set up, a welcoming experience after a grueling 14 miles. Sleep without the fly and enjoy a cool breeze through the mesh fabric. When the clouds threaten rain, pop the seam-sealed fly over top and open the vents to let in a little air. A large door makes entry and exit easy, with a single vestibule for keeping gear dry.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from About the smallest you can get 2 people in, very sturdy. In terms of a tent I'm willing to take backpacking, I generally prioritize set up ease over weight or bulkiness - and this tent is a good compromise. It's a little bulky in my pack but it's so easy to set up that it's totally worth it. It is about the smallest I'd want to cram 2 people inside of, but the gear storage vestibule helps a lot. ,,,,The add-on items for this include the footprint and a gear loft, and I wouldn't bother with either of them. The gear loft is flimsy and small, and I was able to create a much more functional version out of some webbing using the same hooks. Likewise with the footprint, it's great and all but it doesn't cover beneath the vestibule. I made my own Tyvek footprint that cost about the same and is much lighter and more functional. The one thing this tent seriously excels in is stability - it is STOUT. I camp in areas prone to high winds and have no fears that this little tent will kill it.
