"Not water proof"  10/08/11

I've slept in The North Face Simple bivy a hand full of times now, last night was the first time in the "rain". I woke up to rain dripping on my face from the "state of the art water proof and breathable fabric". My entire sleeping bag wet as well. My friend also was sleeping in the same kind of bivy, same thing with him. We were camping in Moab, Ut, the rain was more like a mist. Under the little juniper trees were dry ten feet away from us. I have been much drier sleeping under a ten dollar tarp. On the other hand it does breathe and vent good when one didn't need to sleep in the waste of money.
