The North Face Men's Thunder Micro Jacket is a super light performance insulating mid-layer. Any time that you are packing light but still require protection from cold temperatures, this jacket should be an auto-include. It features 800-fill ProDown which is incredibly warm, and with FlashDry™ underarm panels for wicking moisture and increasing breathability, would be very useful while mountaineering or while protecting the Rebel Alliance's Echo Base from an Imperial invasion on the ice planet, Hoth. The Thunder Micro jacket is stowable into its own hand pocket, so you can easily pack it away when you don't need it (like if you're going to spend the night inside a sliced open Tauntaun.

SPECIFICATIONS of The North Face Men's Thunder Micro Jacket
Very light, very warm, very compact. Just as warm as my Nuptse but not nearly as bulky. Haven't tried skiing with it but I think it would be warm enough for a cold day on the slopes. Would recommend to anyone looking for a lightweight, high-quality down jacket.
I was trading in my Patagonia R4 (which weighs some lbs) for a new lighter down jacket and was trying to decide between the The North Face Thermoball and the Thunder Micro Jacket. I ended up decided on the Thunder jacket because of its real goose down and more athletic fit. Im in Boulder, Co today and this jacket is perfect for walking down Pearl and getting in the backcountry too. I ordered a Medium instead of a Large to use as a base layer. This has a great athletic fit and its extremely light for the warmth it provides. Its like walking around in a sleeping bag. Perfect.
