The North Face Men's Thermoball Full Zip Jacket is a compressible synthetic jacket for staying warm in cold, wet conditions. The Thermoball comes in at under 13 ounces and stows into its own hand pocket, hardly noticeable in your bag, but packs a warm and toasty punch when the temps drop. Each little square baffle has been filled with ThermoPlus™ insulation, and while it is synthetic, it mimics down. That means it's super lightweight, compressible, but with the added advantage of staying warm when wet. Whenever you're heading into the backcountry, grab this little wonder for loads of warmth.

Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Color is misleading I bought the north face thermoball fuse box grey. The jacket is great, size is great but the color is more of an olive green color. I wish I can return it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Light and warm. But not durable I have had this for a month. I have worn it almost everyday. I layer it with a hoodie or fleece and stay comfortable down to about freezing. I can't feel wind come through it. It fits similar to Patagonia stuff. Very boxy so it has a lot of room and doesn't ride up when reaching for something on the top shelf. My only complaint is that the stitching seems inadequate. With light use, the stitching has been coming out in several places. If you wear gloves with velcro, expect to have the stitches on the cuff to get ripped out. I wish there was some cuff on the jacket to protect from that. I got mine on sale for $135. I would probably recommend it for that price, but not the full $200 :(.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps me warm around zero C with t shirt under It's lightweight and fits in a glovebox or under an airplane seat but gives me hardcore warmth without packing a huge coat. Wished I bought it last winter when we landed in cleveland and the icy blast was coming off the Great Lakes and my copilot was warm and stylish and I was freezing, with a bulky coat. Always unfolds and looks great, some other jackets I had looked like I was mr wrinkle man. Perfect range of movement, I can be super active in it and it doesn't feel bulky or limiting. Fitment is perfect and not baggy on me. I live at 5000 feet and don't get much rain, but I've never been cold in it. Its as lightweight as any jacket I own and amoung the warmest.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great lightweight packable jacket! I purchased this jacket to primarily use as a lightweight layer for skiing and travel. The jacket met all of my expectations for these purposes. The Thermoball is very warm considering how lightweight it is. It's not going to keep you warm by itself on really cold or windy days. You'll need to layer it underneath a shell for those purposes. I am 5'8" 175 lbs. with an athletic build. The large fit me well and provided plenty of mobility without being baggy. The jacket is well made however, the outer material is lightweight and I don't expect it to hold up against a lot of abrasion. Overall, I love the functionality, style and fit of the Thermoball. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a lightweight, packable, stylish, and warm jacket to be worn as a layer or by itself on less frigid days.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable and Versatile This is an exceptional coat, but it will not keep you warm in sub-freezing weather by itself. It is definitely a nice base layer rather than a stand along winter jacket. However, you will not find a more comfortable and adaptable coat. When wearing in the car you do not get too warm or too cold as it adapts to your body temperature nicely. I highly recommend this coat with the expectation that it is not a stand-alone winter coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My very picky husband approves! My husband is very picky when it comes to jackets and sports wear. He really wanted a lightweight but warm jacket for Christmas, and I found him this gem! It was such a great price compared to any other site that had any jackets like it. He wore it to work yesterday for the first time and came home and said: "This jacket is soooo nice, l don't even notice I'm wearing a jacket, because it's so light! It feels like I'm wearing sweater, but it's still soo warm." Im so happy he is so pleased with this jacket! Thanks, Moosejaw!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This jacket is the best !! Two years ago I bought this jacket in Black. It immediately became my favorite because: 1. the fit is great.( I'm 5'11" weigh 180 got the large) 2. It is lightweight but warm enough to wear even in temperatures below freezing. 3. Being The North Face, it has a lifetime guarantee. 4. It looks great. 5. I live in Colorado and can wear this jacket in almost every month of the year. When the Thermoball jackets went on sale around Christmas, I bought another just to have variety. Got one in Black ink Green galactic print.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great service and great product!!!!! I ordered a men's North Face thermoball jacket for my son in another state. I had placed the order just about the time there was a huge storm back east so delivery was later than predicted. I was impressed with the communication regarding delivery letting me know just where in the process the delivery was. He received the jacket faster than expected considering the storm. He was impressed with the color, fit, and quality and I was thrilled that Moosejaw was a wonderful company to work with!!!!! Thank you!

will this keep you warm at 0 degrees?

Asked by: Bulldoggie
A goose down jacket would keep a person warmer. The Thermoball material is similar to the Patagonia Nano Puff for the synthetic insulation but it's quite thin and meant for people in active sports (i.e. stop and go activities). The heat would be kept inside the jacket to keep the person warm. If you're NOT active and basically walk around town and such, it won't keep you warm esp. it worn as an external jacket, which also applies to similar competitor's brands like the Nano puff. Rarely does any manufacturer put a warmth rating to its clothing as it really depends on what the person does and what one wears.

Does this zip into most Northface Shell jackets?

Asked by: Jonathon
Thanks for the question! Unfortunately, the Thermoball is not zip-in compatible. I would check out the Nuptse Jacket instead - as that piece will work. I included a link below for you to check out. Hope this helps!
