The North Face Men's Thermoball Full Zip Jacket sounds like a jacket you'd wear for a futuristic sport. Thermoball! I imagine football but the field is just a bunch of hot coals.... and our robot overlords force us to compete for their amusement and table scraps. Well, that sport doesn't exist (yet) but the ThermoBall technology is still pretty futuristic. It's a synthetic insulation comprised of round clusters that trap and retain heat with the warmth equivalent of 600 fill down, but with the benefit of being more reliable in wet conditions. The Thermoball jacket is lightweight and packs into an integrated stow pocket. So pick up this jacket and enjoy some winter camping while you can.... because you know those robots are up to something.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great looking Jacket! I recently picked up this jacket in Black, with a blue logo. It looks great, is super lightweight, fits very well (true to size) and somehow keeps you very warm. However, I have decided to return it, only because it wasnt what I was looking for. This jacket still deserves 5 stars. What I was looking for was a durrable winter jacket that could also be used in a northace shell for ski trips. This jacket is very stylish and trendy, whis is great, but not what I was going for. It keeps you very warm and litterally weighs nothing, but the durrability was a concern for me. Overall, awesome jacket to go out in durring cold nights and would highly recommend it to anyone not looking to layer it inside a shell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from How does something so thin keep you so warm? We live on the Texas Gulf Coast (it's pretty warm here most of the time). However, we are taking a trip to Tennessee in January (it's cold there). Purchased a size small jacket for my 5.5ft 105lb son. The fit is great, even for his freakishly long arms. He and my wife were both skeptical that such a thin and light jacket would be warm. After wearing the jacket out in the 50 deg weather, the jacket had to come off, it was too hot. I'll report back after the trip to Tennessee where the expected temps will be 20s to 30s. Seems like it's going to be perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This thermoball technology is really amazing. I bought this jacket is for light change in weather temperature. I live in San Francisco, where it is well known with its micro-climate. This thermoball technology is very helpful with the micro-climate city. When the weather is getting warm, I don't feel warm/hot wearing this jacket, or vice versa. When if it is too warm, I don't need to worry because I can simply put in my backpack -- this jacket doesn't take too much space. The lightness of this jacket could protect you from cold and windy weather. I am very happy with this jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrifically lightweight and insulating - great for light hiking! Not only is the NF Thermoball Jacket stylish, but it also insulates to far greater an extent than I once thought possible. I've used it as my outer (or only) layer on a few occasions, and am consistently surprised by how insulating the thermoball winds up being - It even managed to keep me fairly warm while riding my motorcycle at 40 degrees! Pretty impressive for a tightly packable and lightweight down jacket alternative. Very impressed, even if it does look like bubble wrap to the thermoball-uninitiated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Is exactly what my husband was looking for. My husband was looking for a thin, lightweight jacket he could layer under his new ski jacket that turned out to not be very warm. This did the trick for sure! He really doesn't even need the ski jacket he was looking to make warmer, this jacket stands alone, even on a blustery, winter night ski at Cannonsburg. :) I only wish they made this same jacket for women, they have the same style, but not the same color...bummer for me because it would look amazing with my beautiful, blue eyes. :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Impressive Jacket! I have had this jacket for two weeks in the bitter cold of New England and I am extremely impressed. I am 30, 5'11 185 pounds with broad shoulders and the Large fits like a dream. I got the Warm Olive Green color and I get compliments everywhere I go. The color is fantastic. What's most impressive about the jacket is that the more active you are the more heat this jacket retains. It's crazy how a jacket so thin can insulate so well. With that said, you need to layer appropriately. If you throw the jacket over a thin shirt and don't do anything out in the cold... You won't be comfortable. Layer accordingly and this jacket will knock your socks off. The only reason I'm giving this jacket 4 stars and not 5 is that its about 90% wind proof. Which is still great but I guess I'm being nitpicky. Buy this jacket it's tremendous.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great buy! I bought this jacket last winter, I fell in love right away! It worked great in the windy texas winter! I used this jacket all summer in Colorado peak bagging in the swatch range. Through sun, wind, rain, and snow I stayed comfortable. The jacket isn't anywhere near water proof, yet even when soaked in 40 degree weather I stayed relatively warm and comfortable. Saved my ass, highly recommended buy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice, especially on sale! Very light and warm. The cut is snug, but not tight. Definitely use the sizing chart / calculator from The North Face... I am typically on the smallish end of a Medium (5'10" and 155 lbs) but the Small fits well and the Medium is too big for me (tried at a store). The waist cinch is a nice touch and prevents it from riding up.,,,,I'm going to enjoy using this one for months/years to come!
