"Great shell. Waterproof and windproof, but insulation is required." 11/24/11
I own a previous model (2008) but it's pretty much the same. The material is very durable and almost impenetrable to water and wind (but still allows breathability). Besides, that, the jacket is great for skiing/snowboarding. It has plenty of pockets and compartments to store things, inside and outside. I would wear this with a fleece underneath, but if it's really cold, thrown on an insulated/down jacket and you're set for the next ice age. Runs a bit large, so I would get a true size if you're planning on using a few layers underneath. Overall, really great jacket. If you're going to use this for everyday, mild winter, the jacket may not be worth the price.
"ST never fails" 11/20/10
In another review I mentioned how I had the entire Steep Tech line, well it wouldn't be fair if I didn't share my thoughts on these jackets.Let me say that the Steep Tech line is the most awesome line of jackets around, from style to comfort, to performance, nothing beats them.This jacket is 20 kinds of awesome, as opposed to 19. It has a backpack in the back that actually manages to look stylish, you can't exactly carry 2 babies and a goat inside but it's suitable for a sandwich and a drink or something along those lines. Overall this jacket looks very, very cool, I have gotten tons of compliments on it.
