"Nice pants but too baggy" 05/05/13

I really wanted to like these pants. The one problem is that they have baggy legs, as in seriously baggy. I could smuggle a couple dachshunds in these pants if I were so inclined. Excess bagginess is a common problem with hiking pants. It’s done in the name of flexibility. But today there are more intelligent ways of achieving mobility, such as gusseted crotches and articulated knees (which these pants have anyway). There is no need for excess fabric that will weigh you down, snag on underbrush, and make you look clownish. So unless I start a new career as dachshund smuggler, or decide to hitch these pants to an upturned golf umbrella and sail to the East Indies, I’ll probably return them.

"Great product at a great price!" 08/04/12

The pants are true to size and like all North Face products they are well made. I feel comfortable in them whether it be on the trail or in the urban jungle. The only tweaking these may need in the future are bigger front pockets but this won't be a big deal for somebody who carries a day pack and can put little gear item in it.

"Great Pants" 03/12/12

I really like these pants. The pockets are a little small, but both are perfect for storing an energy bar or gel. I just hiked 29-miles on the AT and these pants did a great job. We got caught in the rain a couple of times and they dry very fast. I originally ordered a waist size of 32"(which fit my waist, but not my thighs), but these are cut very straight in the legs and I had to send them back and get a 34" in order for my thighs to fit. If you're hiking in cold weather, plan on wearing a base layer because these are very thin and offer no heat retention.I think they will be perfect for spring and summer hikes.Good pants.

"comfortable" 08/15/11

These pants are comfortable and are more suited for casual wear being that they are very thin and light weight. I am not too crazy about the front pockets being more to the outside of the pants and if you have big hands forget about the pockets. The little zip pockets on the thigh are nifty but I was unable to fit my tri-fold wallet. Overall these are good pants but I cannot see them lasting too in the back country. They will keep you cooler than jeans or khakis and you do not have to iron them. They are not too bad.

I have had these pants for a month and they are great. They stretch more than jeans and they are tougher than their stretchy counterparts (most hiking pants). This makes them a great intermediate. Some other perks are the DWR, somewhat lightweight, and the streamlined pockets (even though they are small). Over all they are great. I wear size 32 and I am 6' tall and the
