The North Face Men's Paramount Peak II Convertible Pant is a hiking pant for various temperature situations on the trail. You never know when you're gonna hit a cool front or warm front, so it's really best to be prepared. Pants one minute and with a quick unzip at each knee, shorts the next. Regardless of which way you wear them you're always treated with a built-in belt, two cargo pockets and two front pockets and two back pockets. That's a lot of pockets. Load 'em up with candy, a map and maybe a pocket knife. Then walk until you can't walk no more.

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I highly recommend these pants. I bought one pair of these pants before leaving the US for Uganda. I purchased 2 other pair of cheap knock off nylon pants from another well known clothing store. I am now in Uganda and am regretting the purchase of the cheap pants since you get what you pay for.,,The NF pants are light weight and fit comfortably. They dry quickly and have plenty of storage/pockets available. I like the velcro pocket tabs and the front zipper pocket to carry cash. My only regret with these pants is buying the khaki color as opposed to the darker colors that won't show as much dirt since all our clothes are now washed by hand!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good All Around Pants I'm 6'1'' 180 lbs and a 32 inch waist/32 inch inseam. I got the medium regular and they are perfect. A little big in the waist, but they cinch up real nice with the belt that comes with it. The length is perfect also. They are a little thicker than I was anticipating, but they would be perfect for spring/fall and winter with a base layer. Summer time might be a little too warm, but I guess that's why they convert to shorts. Lots of nice pockets. Asphalt grey was a little darker than I was expecting, but still a nice color. My only gripe is the cellphone pocket. I'm not sure who even makes a cellphone anymore that could fit it in. An iPhone 6 with an Otterbox case certainly won't.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and Functional I bought these for my fiancé (now husband!) for our African safari honeymoon. They were so perfect! The pants were needed for the chilly morning drives and the adjustable shorts were perfect during day once the sun came out. The color was great and they fit his 6'2" frame perfectly. The adjustable wait was nice because they were a little big and he was able to tighten them. He also found the pockets useful and said they were super comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pants! My 14 year old will wear these to Philmont Boy Scout Ranch on a 100 mile hike this summer. He has worn them on his training hikes around Ohio. He says that he likes the bottom zip so he can put them on over his boots. Obviously the fact that they convert to shorts also is a plus. He also likes the zipper side pockets so he knows he won't lose things that he puts in there. They are very comfortable. He also likes the built in belt. We are going to order a second pair as soon as more stock arrives in Asphalt Grey.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Deal in Pants for Casual, Sports on The Plane I received my first pair some seven years ago. The seven year old ones remain solid but look worn. The newer versions have work as well and look great in almost any venue. I've received compliments from other men wondering what they are and where to buy them. For me the best measure of great satisfaction is they dry quickly if you get wet, have great tear resistance. Allow for conversion to shorts and carry a limited lifetime warrantee. The only shortcoming is availability of all colors in all sizes albeit Moosejaw has as good a selection as a purchase direct from North Face.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent material Overall, great pant! Will note that you may need to order a smaller size that what you actually wear. I am 5'8 180lb I ordered a med/short. the med/short was more like a 34x34 pant. iam a 32X32 pant size. I had to return and get a small/short.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome hiking pants or tactical pants This is my second pair of these pants and they are totally the best Northface pants I have ever worn. The material stays the same all the time no matter how many washes. I have never used the shorts feature because the pants are warm in the winter ironically but also very cool in the warmer weather. They are light and very easy to move around in and you can get full leg movement and Bend with no constraint issues. I will be ordering several more pairs of these. Best pants ever

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pair of Pants!!! These pants are Goldilocks!!!. NOt to thick. Not to thin. Ive been traversing trails with these and they repel water, and very breathable .Great to have the convertible legs on these. Great construction on these. Plus the web belt is removable unlike the last model of these that were released. I even bought a second pair to wear around casually as khakis.
