"Pretty Good Shorts..." 09/20/11
These shorts look great and feel pretty good to wear. They shed water quickly and dry pretty fast when wet. The built in belt has a tendancy to twist up from time to time. I bought these shorts at the begining of summer and have worn them for 4 months now. I have hiked, mountain biked, camped, and backpacked in them. So far so good. They have been quite durable so far as well. I love the length of the legs as well. Not too short not too long. They do not have back pockets. Not a big deal for me but it may be an issue for some.
"Really like these shorts." 04/23/11
Since i have got these shorts it seems i keep reaching for them before they get washed. Maybe thats because i don't wash my clothes as much as i should or maybe its because these shorts are comfortable, stylish, dry fast, and durable. The only reason these shorts get 4 stars instead of 5 is there is no back pocket. The only times that bugs me though is when i'm just wearing them casually so its not the biggest deal.
"North Face really screwed up a good pair of shorts." 08/31/10
I had North Face Paramounts so I ordered what I thought were the same shorts. Wrong, Wrong, Wrong. What the hell?! A pair of cargo shorts with no back pockets?! Also the belt loops don't hold the belt in place when you tighten the belt. The pants pucker and the belt rides up and rubs your hide off. The Paramounts had a channel that kept the belt in place. North Face could sell these to the fashionistas and could bring back the old Paramounts for the people who actually go into the forest.
"Great, light, quick to dry, and lots of room" 08/24/10
They are so nice I wear them on the trail and every other day off the trail it seems. Very light, with lots of room. I usually stuff tons of things into my pockets while backpacking but with these i never really seem to notice its all there. If you get wet, they'll be dry before you notice. Very light and nice to wear on a warm day, and on cooler days they still do well. Easy to move in, and the belt I like, with its easy clip. I will buy another pair.
"Not as good as last year's" 08/05/10
I have the shorts from last year, and just got a second pair with MJ points. The good news: the shorts are comfortable and move well, a little longer and looser than last years. The bad is that NF sews them more cheaply than the earlier version. There are no back pockets. The side pockets formerly had little plackets on the back edge and bottom, to expand and have more capacity- the new are sewn flat. Instead of a complicated and long cover on the belt, there are now just belt loops that are two inches wide and way too big for the included one inch wide belt. Somebody at NF decided to save some cents on the sewing without lowering the price and has degraded an otherwise really good product.
"These shorts need back pockets like whoa." 07/06/10
I was looking for a new lightweight short to wear whilst participating in outdoorsy recreational activities, so, after much debate about the lack of the back pocket and wear to keep my wallet (we decided the cargo pocket would be best, but take some time to become comfortable with) I decided these shorts would be my best fit. They're very similar to the zip-off TNF pants I have, but with far less pocket space. My only other beef with these shorts is that the inseam is a little long for my liking, as it hangs just below my knee, which is about two to three inches lower than I like it.
"great" 06/29/10
comfortable. true fit at least i think so. i have lost a lot of weight lately and this clip buckle is pretty nice for that because it is really expensive to keep buying new shorts! so if you are losing weight and feeling great and don't feel great buying a new pair of shorts everyone month, well these will work great for you!
"Awesome shorts" 04/28/10
Very light weight. Very Comfortable. Very stylish. All the things you could want in a pair of shorts. I wish they made shorts longer that were a smaller waist. I have to order a large just for length but need the medium in size (33 waist usually). Maybe someday a manufacturer will figure it out.
"Great pair of shorts" 04/08/10
Shorts look great, come with a sweet belt. I usually wear about 33-34 waist, and went with the large just because I do not like to wear short shorts (I don't use nair), the sizing is accurate though, because the large is pretty big in the waist on me but I like the length better and like I said, it came with a sweet belt so that helps! Happy Shorting
