"great lightweight pants-- perfect for summer hiking"  05/05/12

These pants are awesome! Bought them for my husband-- they look great, he says they feel great-- they are really light, they dry fast, and are perfect for three seasons of CT!

"Second pair, will buy more"  05/23/11

After the @$$ blew out on my last pair, I picked up another pair of these pants. They're great, good price point, dry fast, and offer good range of movement. The previous pair I had lasted a good 18 months through some pretty serious backpacking trips so I was more than happy with them.

"A great pant for air travel or traveling in the great outdoors"  03/29/11

Got these pants for hubby. The pants are great for travel. He take the legs off in the airplane when landing in the tropics and is ready to deplane in the hot, humid air. This procedure is reversed when leaving the tropics. One really nice feature about the convertible North Face pants are the color coded zippers to indicate right leg/left leg. A feature that is really appreciated when one is crammed on an airplane putting the legs back on the shorts. Note: When I ordered the most recent pair of pants for hubby, they were no longer making them with three inseam choices. Only one inseam is now available. That's ashame for short or tall customers.

"Like but not love these pants"  02/06/11

These pants fit me ok (they are a bit long) I wear a 31x30. I like that they have so many useful and zippered pockets. And the Zip off legs have color coated zippers which makes it easy to put them back together. The zip off is also in a good place; I've had other convertible pants where the zipper placement bother my knee's. I wish the pants were a bit heavier in the weight of material. All and all I am happy with the pants they have upsides and I can always find the right weather and conditions to put them to good use. These pants for me are mainly an early fall and late spring hiking pant. I guess one could use them as a straight short in the summer as well.

"Great pants, even if you don't like pants"  09/03/10

Apparently you're supposed to wear pants in public... I didn't think the back country was technically public, but I found out I was wrong. I used some points to pick these pants up a while back, and they survived a bit over a year of heavy backpacking/hiking use. I finally blew the seat out of them on a recent hike (I blame the jambalaya), so I just ordered a new pair. Great pants, even if you don't always wear them (pants that is). Just beware of fire, these puppies melt if an ember falls on you.

"Dang nice, but could be a bit better"  07/22/10

The pants fit nice and are true to size in both the waist and inseam. The only thing that could make these great pants a little nicer would be a better pocket design. The main pockets are at a bit of a strange angle. This makes it a little tough to stand around looking cool with your hands in your pockets. There are also 6" deep pockets towards the outside of the main pockets that are only 3.5" wide. Unless you have little girly hands it's almost impossible to retrieve anything out of them quickly. Other than the slight issue with the pockets I love these pants.

"No pants allowed."  06/03/10

I am the most interesting person in the world, and I don't always where pants, but when I do, they're these pants. They're a little long for me but the waste fits very well, they're light, fast drying, and easy to wash. Great pants, pick up a pair if you're as interesting as I am.
