"Great Hiking Shoe" 04/14/13
After a lot of research, I ordered these with the laces this time because they no longer had the BOA version in my size. I love these. Much better with the laces too. great support for long or short hikes in the mountains or the desert around my house. The look great and feel great and after I wear these out, I'll get them a third time.
"short lived comfort and traction" 01/01/13
Overall a great pair of shoes that held up decently to a lot of use. I've had them for a year now and loved them until recently. The fit is good and the shoes are light; the traction has also been excellent in all conditions. This was my first pair of GTX shoes and I will never look back, I was amazed at how well these took a dip without getting me wet.My only complaint is that after much use some of the side lugs on the tread have torn off and now some of the stitching is coming loose around the outside of the toe areas. After the stitching began to fail the shoes started to feel much less comfortable in the toe area. Not sure if the shape isn't holding due to the stitching or what.
"Not fully impressed" 11/07/12
I bought this for light hiking/trail running. The sole (vibram) is superior, however the Gore-Tex is not fully waterproof. After an easy hike up Black Dome in the Catskills, my feet were soaked. It runs true to size, and has decent cushioning.
"Solidly built. Nice cushioning, but not spongy. Good traction." 09/20/12
I bought these shoes mainly to wear to work and have been very pleased. It is a very stable shoe with excellent traction. The midsole is firm but with above average cushioning. The shoe feels well built and durable. Despite having gore-tex the shoe is very breathable.
"A great shoe!" 12/06/11
I have the previous model of this shoe and they are great. I wear them nearly everyday and have had them for over a year now. At about 1 year, the sole started to separate and after 10 months or so I had to get new laces. They are warmer than a normal shoe yet still breathable enough to wear in the summer. The goretex held up for about 6 months I think but I am afraid they will no longer keep my feet dry at this time. They fit my foot well and I have not had a problem with blisters from them.
"Solid, comfortable hiking shoe" 11/27/11
These have become my go-to shoes for most day-hiking activities. I have worn these up to 10 miles, while carrying light-, medium- and heavy-weight packs. For a light hiking shoe, the support is good. They are comfortable, although I find the fit in the toebox is a bit snug if I wear thick socks. Most importantly, I have had no blistering problems, even in very warm weather (i.e., while sweating a lot) and on steep uphill terrain. Good shoes. I have not been disappointed.
