Rated 5 out of 5 by from This pant is great! I deliver papers early in the morning before the sun is up, and needed something that would keep me warm and dry. I'm in ND so there are many sub-zero temp days and lots of snow. I bought a size smaller than I normally because I wanted more of a regular fit like I was wearing jeans. And I had read they tend to run a tad big. With just sweatpants underneath I still have to open the vents even when it's about 0°. They aren't too baggy so I trip. I could definitely see myself using it snowboarding as well. I just might prefer one size larger for a little extra room. These would be perfect for snowshoeing as well. I'll be doing that yet too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pants for the price: extremely durable, comfortable and flexible. Proving their durability, I fell on the same spot the majority of the day (back right buttocks) and that spot didn't wear at all! As far as the movement within the pants goes, it was very easy to bend in the awful ways my body was bending while learning how to ski while wearing them and they were even comfy to lounge in after the day was done. When I was making the purchase I was worried that they wouldn't be warm enough as I bought only the shell but I wore these over some leggings and some ski socks and was fine. The fit of these pants was perfect, a little big for my waist (6'3", 34" inseam, 33" waist) but they fit well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good pants, would only change a thing or two For the most part i love these pants, they are warm, water proof, and they get the job done. What i like: they have elastic velcro straps around the waist which is really easy to tighten up, also they have the vents down the side of the leg which help me to stay cool when it gets a little warmer. Something i didn't like: the elastic that is around the leg gaiter that goes inside your boot is once size, its not adjustable like it was on my pair of columbia snow pants. Also the pant-a-locks system is nice, but not as nice as it could be, it clips onto 3 belt loops, where as something like burton zips on, the north face system still has gaps between the belt loops.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great addition to the gear pile I love my new pants. Had to retire my 14 year old North Face Mountain Light pants and had been searching for a replacement. These pants are perfect for running out with the dog, sledding with the kids and rocking down the slope. Fit was spot on and adjustable with the integrated side straps. Now I don't have to pull my pants up after every binding adjustment! The vents work perfectly and the zipper pulls are easy to use with bulky gloves and mittens. Large cargo pocket swallows a hat and fleece gloves or stores nutritional stores for long outings. The lining of the pants are comfortable if you are running commando or layering up. Very happy with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These are great pants that block the chill and are comfortable I ordered a large for my massive 5'10" frame and while the large are alittle long and big(belt loops present along with the ability to tighten the pants with velcro straps on the pants) they allow me to wear a layer underneath them not because a layer is needed but because of the situations I wear them in. I was alittle worried by the heaviness of the pant and the possibility that I might self combust due to their insulation. Luckily I didnt self combust and the side vents on the pants actually work to cool you off and the weight of the pant was a no issue.,,

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Pair of Pants I have to admit, I bought these pants for a backpacking trip looking for something that was rugged and comfortable for a week long adventure and these totally worked. I had to wear a pair of long johns underneath to stay warm when I wasn't moving but they worked great in the snow. My only complaint is that I got the medium and I have a 34" inseam (I think that is the right name for it) and the length is and inch or two short but besides that these are some awesome pants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pants at a great price I bought these pants for my husband. I was little worried about the insulation level as I didn't want it to be a weird in between level. The pants were perfect. We skied in the low teens with wind and the pants were great with long underwear. We skied in upper 20's and the pants were great on their own. My husband is 5'10" and the medium fit perfect. I'm glad I stayed with North Face as the quality is great and my husband is happy with the fit/comfort of this pant.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but a little baggy for mountaineering These are some great shell pants if you're looking to go skiing, snowboarding, or just fooling around in the snow.My only gripes have been with using them for mountaineering. They're on the baggy side, I have the crampon marks to prove it! The material is very durable, though, and was not punctured by my crampons, only scratched. For the price, they're great pants, you just might want to consider something else if your primary use will be winter trekking/mountaineering.
