"Great pants at a great price" 03/26/13
I bought these pants for my husband. I was little worried about the insulation level as I didn't want it to be a weird in between level. The pants were perfect. We skied in the low teens with wind and the pants were great with long underwear. We skied in upper 20's and the pants were great on their own. My husband is 5'10" and the medium fit perfect. I'm glad I stayed with North Face as the quality is great and my husband is happy with the fit/comfort of this pant.
"Good value, protection and warmth" 06/26/12
This pant provide a fair amount of warmth and is great for winter activity. Has belt loop and velco strap that allow me to tighten the fit. I find myself reaching for it after hours of hiking! The materials are very durable and provide plenty of protection against the weather. North Face made this pant very well and at the price they are selling it, its good value for money compare to competitor's product.
"Good, but a little baggy for mountaineering" 02/08/12
These are some great shell pants if you're looking to go skiing, snowboarding, or just fooling around in the snow.My only gripes have been with using them for mountaineering. They're on the baggy side, I have the crampon marks to prove it! The material is very durable, though, and was not punctured by my crampons, only scratched. For the price, they're great pants, you just might want to consider something else if your primary use will be winter trekking/mountaineering.
"Great for all weather" 12/21/11
I work outside 8 months out of the year watching athletic events. These pants are awesome. They keep me dry and with a base layer warm as well. These will be used heavily until they fall apart which hopefully is in a long time.
"Great Pants for Skiers" 11/22/11
I have worn north face and other products in the past for carving up the powder and so far these pants have exceeded expectations. If you worry about getting water logged bye end of day, worry no more these pants have kept me dry during long days on mountain. With a decent pair of underlayer these pants have no problem with warmth either. The only complaint is no easily visible pocket for ski pass other than that excellent for skiing all day and night!
"Great Pants for wet cold weather" 05/04/11
I bought these to go use with my Northface Triclimate jacket specifically for the cold wet winter weather. Not only were they warm enough, but they were very comfortable over jeans or by themselves. The cargo pocket is great for small gear items and I espaecially liked the zipped from pocket for the added security of wallet, keys, etc.I highly recommend these for any cold weather enthusiast!Joe H
"Great pants for the price: extremely durable, comfortable and flexible." 02/07/11
Proving their durability, I fell on the same spot the majority of the day (back right buttocks) and that spot didn't wear at all! As far as the movement within the pants goes, it was very easy to bend in the awful ways my body was bending while learning how to ski while wearing them and they were even comfy to lounge in after the day was done. When I was making the purchase I was worried that they wouldn't be warm enough as I bought only the shell but I wore these over some leggings and some ski socks and was fine. The fit of these pants was perfect, a little big for my waist (6'3", 34" inseam, 33" waist) but they fit well.
"Awesome pants!" 02/05/11
Love these pants, they've got plenty of space to layer up when you head out to the mountain and they're quite flexible so they can keep up with the movement of bombing down the trails. Adjustable waist straps and the belt loops are a definite bonus for keeping a good fit. I also like the nice big vents on the side for when it actually gets warm out.
"Great fit, very comfortable, no insulation - no problem!" 02/02/11
My husband really likes his new ski pants. They fit great, kept him warm, and he really liked the pockets. Freedom is a good name, he says they move well and are great for clobbering snowboarders. The lift ticket clip is cool and the waist band adjusters really help for different layering days (or too much to eat at lunch...)
"Great Ski Pants" 01/12/11
I skied in these pants for about a week last season and I have to say they are some of the best I have used. The pocket on the upper thigh is the most useful feature of the pants. I cannot really comment on the waterproofness of these pants as the entire time it snowed and was sub freezing. The vents on the legs are also a great feature.
