The North Face Denali Jacket is pretty much the emperor of North Face fleece jackets, and all fleece jackets in the world for that matter. The redesigned men's Denali jacket features a napoleon chest pocket and horizontal chest pocket, and is still constructed with the incredible recycled Polartec 300 series fleece with DWR to offer awesome protection in a chilly breeze. The North Face Denali jacket has a pair of hand pockets, elastic-bound cuffs, pit-zip vents and a hem cinch cord that combine to create adjustability for personal comfort. If your collection of North Face outerwear doesn't include a new Denali jacket, you're not doing yourself any favors.

It's a great fall jacket, or even a mild day winter one at that. As for the wind protection; almost zero. It's like wearing a regular fleece. The overall look of the fleece on someone is what sells it so well.

"Not all models are made the same way?"  05/09/12

As one of the reviewer pointed out, even mild wind (5 mph) blows right through the Denali jacket. Even though the model stays the same year after year, the quality varies.

"Not warm enough for winter, But perfect for Fall and early Spring"  04/29/12

In my opinion the Denali is a good jacket but not warm enough for winter an too warm for mid to late spring. If your gonna get it you'll most likely only use during fall. Overall I WOULD recommend this to a friend.

"The Jacket is Great !!"  03/23/12

The Jacket is Great !! Warm and comfortable. My wife wants to steal it all the time. I guess I'll have to get one for her too. Just not from Moosejaw. Dealing with Moosjaw is terrible !! Every purchase I've made from them had had problems of some kind !! The rewards points are a mess too !! I'm done buyng from them. But the products are fantastic.

"Great at generating heat...Just not keeping it in, or cold out."  03/13/12

Just like the title says. This fleece is great at keeping me warm, until the wind blows. The wind cuts right through the fleece, but when paired with a windbreaker shell it's unbeatable! I would recommend this for fall/spring use by itself, but you would definitely need more for winter...especially one in Chicago!
