The North Face Men's Carto Triclimate Jacket is a 3-in-1 jacket that has been built for winter and can be dismantled for use in fall and spring. Don't worry, I use the term dismantled loosely. Since this combo comes with not one jacket, but two, you have the freedom to wear each one separately, or both of them together. The outer jacket consists of a waterproof/breathable HyVent™ 2L shell, to block the elements from getting at your body. Snow, rain, wind, they'll steer clear. The liner jacket is synthetic insulated with 120g of Heatseeker™ to trap warm air, keeping you warm and comfy on the cold days. When it's dry but cool, wear it on its own for a lightweight option.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Jacket I bought this jacket for myself for Christmas. It is really three jackets in one, the outer jacket, the inner one and a combination of both for really cold weather. I have not had a chance to wear it yet in really cold weather but I'm pretty confident it will keep me warm in even sub zero temps. I really like how it looks and fits. They run a little large-I normally wear a medium but had to order a small to fit me. Moosejaw had the lowest price and the color and size I wanted in stock. Jacket was received earlier than promised. Definitely recommend Moosejaw if you are looking for a quality product at a great price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A bit too Boxy Depending on your style, this might not be the jacket you're looking for. It was rather wide in the torso and just overall pretty bulky. I understand that it allows for more layers to be applied underneath but that can still be accomplished without the resulting square box look. I am sure it is a quality product that will keep you warm and do the job it is intended, however this can still be accomplished with a more athletic fit. I returned the product and moosejaw graciously refunded me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good choice for all but the coldest climates Bear in mind, this isn't your typical bulky down jacket from days of old. This is a somewhat trim fitting jacket, definitely suitable for skiing. If you're active and it's 20 degrees or warmer, you'll be OK in this. But I don't think that this can work as your single "heavy winter jacket" if you experience genuinely cold northern winters. For extended exposure standing around in sub-freezing temperatures, you're going to need an intermediate sweater-type layer. I wish there was a way to detach or roll up the hood. Also, it really needs an inside breast pocket. All in all, I was a bit surprised by the super-high ratings for this model. f I had to do it over again, I would splurge for the down-filled Triclimate Mountain Light, which I expect is warmer than this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Carto Tri-climate jacket Love, love, love this jacket. I bought it for my son as a Christmas present and now my husband is dying to have one. I haven't been able to find the same one in his size in the same color so now I'm trying to find another great alternative by The North Face. This jacket is warm, stylish and protects you from wind, rain and the cold. The inner puffer jacket is light weight, soft and warm for a chilly day, but when combined with the outer jacket you can tackle any kind of weather the winter may have coming.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect. I bought this jacket and took it immediately to the mountain. I'm an aggressive downhill skiier and it provided everything I needed it to. Warmth, mobility, comfort, durability, and looks. Great product. NorthFace is worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome jacket I bought this jacket for snowboarding, and it was perfect. The temps ranged from 6 degrees to about 20 degrees the days we were snowboarding, and this jacket kept me supes warm - so much so that I actually had to take a layer off for the afternoon. Also like that the inner layer zips out to be a lighter weight jacket (good for our "Winters" down here in Texas.) Only drawback would be it could use more pockets, and maybe a detachable hood.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps me Dry & Warm I have had 4 to 5 different types of Northface Jackets for the past few years but i never bought a Tri climate jacket before. This is probably one of the best purchases i made in recent times. Amazingly light, keeps me warm and dry. I wore this jacket when it was raining pretty heavy, When the temp is below 30 degrees. It kept me warm and dry in both the conditions. I recommend this Jacket to any one who is looking to buy a Tri climate jacket. There is one thing i dont like in this jacket compared to my other TNF jackets -- This jacket seems a little bigger is size, its not heavy but bulky. I guess that would be the case with any Tri climate jacket which comes with multiple layers. Worth spending the money on a product like this. Buying anything from Mosejaw is a very good choice. TNF website & Moosejaw listed the jacket for the same price, But TNF had no rewards offers, but Moosejaw gave me 30 $ Almost gift card when i made the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's 2 jackets in one What could be better? I could hardly get my teenager to wear one coat...Now he wears two! I haven't told him you can zip out the other, and I don't think he has notice, but two jackets - in the cold - without arguement. This jacket isn't just a great coat, it is an anti-fight with your teenager in the cold weather weapon!
