The North Face Men's Apex Bionic Jacket is a windproof jacket for cool weather action outdoors. The TNF Apex ClimateBlock fabric is 96% polyester and 4% elastane, durable enough for day hikes and weekends at the cabin. The stretch allows you to move easily and wind won't stand a chance against the 0 CFM rating (100% windproof). A durable water repellent finish provides a bit of water resistance as well, so you have a bit of time to get inside when the rain starts to fall. Warm enough for mild weather without allowing you to overheat during activity makes this a go-to jacket for fall and spring.

Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Id buy it again The reason I bought this jacket was because of the great experience I have had with my other North Face products and my gloves from last year are this APEX BIONIC material. The material is water resistant and stretchy. The gloves proved how water resistant last year with all the snow we had in Michigan and kept my hands warm even biking in our Arctic Blasts. The coat so far is great, it cuts the wind on bike rides and still breaths enough to keep you cool. ,,,,I think its best use would be as a mid layer below 20f when not active, but if you are moving more than its great over a long sleeve t-shirt as your outter layer into the teens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This North Face Apex Bionic Jacket is the Bomb. My grandson wanted this North Face Apex Bionic Jacket in Vanadis Gray from Moosejaw for his 16th birthday. He sent me a picture of the jacket on the Moosejaw site. I had never heard of Moosejaw. They were so happy that I found their site they gave me 20% off on the jacket and free shipping. Well, I thought, can't beat that deal with a stick. So, of course my grandson is looking great (the jacket is great but, I think he makes it look even better ) in his new Apex Bionic jacket from Moosejaw. These are some real nice people at Moosejaw. Thank y'all for helping me make my grandson's 16th birthday extra special. ,,,,B.Howell

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Jacket!!! This jacket is simply amazing. A little warmer that what you would expect from the weight, will hold hold up well in temperatures colder than you'd think. My first one was stolen from me in a Chinese night club. If you ever go to Luoyang, China, and wear this jacket keep an eye on it. I don't know who stole my jacket, so I'm holding the whole country responsible. So 1.3 billion people like this jacket, that is 1/5 of the world's population, and they can't be wrong. I bought a new one when I got back to the US and A and couldn't be happier.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Loving the coat so far. Fits perfectly and kills the wind. I've never had a North Face before (I didn't like the idea of wearing the same thing everyone else was/is wearing), but while I was shopping around for a new coat, my girlfriend convinced me to try the Apex Bionic jacket. As soon as I put it on, I understood why so many people have these jackets. It's incredibly comfortable, fits great, looks even better, and most importantly keeps the cold out.,,,,I've worn this jacket three days to work in single digit temps (Fahrenheit) with below zero wind chills and it hasn't let me down yet. I highly recommend this coat for anyone looking for a comfortable, functional jacket that can be worn in below zero temps as well as in the cool parts of spring and fall.,,,,I finally understand why everyone and their mother owns a North Face.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect jacket for running errands in the snow!! I have a number of jackets from TNF, Marmot, Patagonia, Columbia, etc. that all serve different purposes. I recently picked up this Apex Bionic jacket to fill the gap between my Patagonia Better Sweater and my Marmot Zeus, something that I could throw on to run errands around town in windy Oklahoma. This jacket is absolutely perfect for that and is even warmer than I thought it would be, is extremely good at blocking the cutting wind and looks very, very good as well!,,,,I would absolutely recommend this jacket to anyone looking for a softshell!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome jacket I bought this jacket for my husband. He needed something warm but not bulky. He also needed a jacket that was somewhat dressier. The black fit the bill. Its a great jacket, easy to move in and looks awesome with jeans, khakis or dressier slacks. My son wanted a similar jacket and we got him a different one, well we returned it and Im ordering this jacket for him too. I love Moosejaw. I have ordered products from them and they are reasonable, competitive pricing, and shipping and returns are great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly recommended, both for outdoor activities and casual/urban wear. TNF products in general are excellent as they manage to strike the mark between superb outdoor application and stylish urban clothing.,,This jacket is excellent for outdoor activities. It keeps you warm, keeps the wind out and will keep your upper body dry even if you get caught in some wet weather.,,It is also great for wearing around town during autumn/winter with a short sleeve shrift underneath - looks fashionable and keeps you warm.,,,,Highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sizing and fit is great, moosejaw is great, price is great. I've been wanting this jacket for a quite a while now. Easily the most versatile jacket ever made. Rugged enough to take camping, and will keep the wind an rain out. Looks nice enough to wear to something more formal. Build quality on these jackets is really great and you really can't go wrong with any of the colors. Sizing on these are a breath of fresh air. I wear a small in most clothing sizes, and for once this small isn't like a dang parachute.

Can this jacket be worn in New York winters?  What temperatures can this be worn for everyday use?  How does it compare to the TNF Denali jackets?

Asked by: Josh
Josh, I have both the hooded softshell Apex Bionic and the traditional fleece Denali.  Have had the Denali for a long time and the Apex just a year. Three things I noticed the most.  1) I didn't realize how much wind got through the Denali when I wore it as an outer layer. The Apex is a bomb. No wind gets through. 2) Would definitely need an waterproof shell with the Denali when there's rain. The Apex isn't waterproof, but surprisingly water repellent. Could go a while in some rain before leaking through. 3) Stretch. The Apex seems to move with me better for active outdoor fun, e.g., skiing, as opposed to standard Polartec fleece.  I think the Apex is warmer and can probably go into the 20s to 40s depending on how big you get it, what you have underneath, how active you are. I don't think I'd go as cold in the Denali...particularly if it's blowing. Hope this helps!
