Great for rain, wind, and cold. Runs slightly large but it's perfect for putting a patagonia down sweater underneath in real cold weather.

"Fantasticly wonderful"  12/05/11

Bought this jacket for my boyfriend for his birthday and he is in love with it. More in love with the jacket than me, which is fine because that means I have excellent taste. He says he can wear it pretty much all year round, uses layers if it's truly cold outside. Looks awesome in it too.

I looked at a ton of jackets, but decided on this one after my brother bought the same jacket for our trip to Mt. Kilimanjaro. Did great in the wet and wind! Really comfortable and light, but still warm.

"The perfect jacket for crappy Michigan weather"  11/07/11

This jacket seemed to be designed for Michigan's cold, rainy, windy weather conditions. The North Face's Apex fabric works perfectly as it helps you chase kids around the park or shimmy up a slimy offwidth. I have been looking for a hoodie in this fabric and I am glad I have it now. I know it isn't waterproof, but i haven't found a level of rain it couldn't handle yet. The size is slim fit for use as a mid layer. The interior water bottle pockets fit my platypuses perfectly. All in all I am happy to welcome a new jacket to my closet and happy to retire a couple old friends that jacket will replace. Donation bin here I come.

"Stylish and practical"  06/24/11

When I bought this hoodie I thought it's only windproof. Actually it's wateproof else - it keeps me dry in medium rain (I didn't test it in heavy rain) and I use it in my travels with pleasure.Also it's necessary to know that this hoodie is very warm so u can easily wear it in cold weather. About weight - though that people consider its lightweight I think that weight normal enough. A jacket material very soft and pleasant to the touch. It looks very stylishly and the size, as always from TNF felt to true but in this case it fits some tightly a figure. I use it very often (besides warm days) and really happy with this product from The North Face.
