The North Face Heckler Backpack is one of the most popular North Face backpacks ever. The Heckler is designed to hold most 15" laptops in a padded sleeve in the large main compartment, and also features a front panel compartment for additional organization, and a pair of side mesh water bottle pockets to keep a couple of Nalgenes handy when on the move. Like all North Face backpacks, the this one too wants you to be super comfortable on your way to class or work, featuring North Face Flex Vent injection-molded shoulder straps, a comfy, stitched foam back panel, and a removable hipbelt. Got a ton of crap? No worries, because the Heckler backpack offers a ton of room. We're talking 34 liters, or 2,080 cubic inches of space. I have enough room in my Heckler to bring my baby blanket to that boring history class for naps.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great backpack - Durable and quite sizeable I have owned other backpacks in the past that have just fallen apart after a couple of years. I typically use my backpack for lugging around loads of books and my laptop at college in Michigan (Go Blue!). I've had this backpack for three years now and it's still holding strong. The built-in laptop compartment is convenient especially if you do not have a case. All in all am very pleased with my purchase and will continue to use it until it falls apart (hopefully not anytime soon). My only quibble is that it in the rain it gets fairly wet and the material gets soaked after a period of time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pack for Hiking/Commuting I commute daily to work and this pack works wonderfully since it has a pocket in the back for my laptop and plenty of room for magazines, papers, lunch, etc. On the weekends when I hit the trail this pack is with me all the time. Can fit so much stuff in it and on it, via the daisy chain and bungee strap, and just go. Even allows you to put a hydration pack in the laptop pocket if you want. The one downfall I have with the pack is that the back padding is just so rigid, but that is something you want if you are carrying around you laptop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pack Got this for college next year. It is a little on the small side but i find that it has enough room for me. It has very few pockets which i like but if you like to put things in different compartments this isn't for you, It does have a nice laptop compartment for 15' laptops. The top pocket is just big enough to put car keys and a other small item or two. I have used this a few times to go on day hikes too and it is very durable and will last for years. The bungee cords have turned out to be useful and i think it looks pretty sweet too!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good bang for ya buck. I needed a backpack for school with a good laptop holder for school and for that purpose it will more than do the job. My laptop fits perfectly as well as all my books. I am very curious to how it will hold up as a weekend daypack when camping. It seems really thin and in an area surrounded with briers and brush that is a real concern. Although when it comes to school this backpack is more than adequate to do the job. In the sense of using it as a daypack I might look for something a little more rugged and thick to do the job.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I'll have this for quite a few years I got this for the past school year; it still looks completely new even after almost everyday use (!!) the only real problem is it lacks back support that excels, it doesn't distribute or cushion the weight of my books in a particularly helpful way like previous backpacks have. It is, however, stylish and has many convenient pockets/ pouches for organization (the side ones are great for storing your phone/ipod so you don't have to dig everywhere for it when you're walking)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality, decent price This back pack is a little on the expensive side, but thankfully I got it with my rewards points. I absolutely love it. You can easily fit books, smacks, water, a laptop, and plenty more. It's amazing how much you can fit in there. This fall I'm going to college and I can't wait to use this there! The only downsides could be cost (which in comparison to some is a great deal) and also the back isn't very padded but you don't really notice it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great college backpack Works really well as an every day backpack for college students. I feel like my laptop is safe and secure in the laptop slot even without a case. I love that there are little pockets and compartments everywhere so that I can store lotion, makeup, calculators, everything that you could possibly need! It still feels pretty lightweight with all my things in there. I got the light blue color and it is really pretty in person.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a good backpack for the city, not so much the trail, but it will work if needed. Got this as a general all-purpose bag.I walk around the city and go on dayhikes frequently and this pack does the job. Has a laptop storage pocket in the pack if needed, and outside straps make it easy to attach a yoga mat to. I got the brown/plaid pack for $30 cheaper because the color was discontinued. ,,Final conclusion: ,, It looks good, works good, and was a great deal.
