"Great Day Hike Pack" 01/06/11
I originally purchased this pack for day hikes in national parks on a road trip my girlfriend and I took last summer. After 7 different parks and over 150 miles of hiking I still loved the pack. As a Camelbak user for many years I was apprehensive at first about the Source Hydration system but it works just as well and I actually like the bite valve on this system better. The three zippered storage areas have great sewn-in compartments to store flashlights, multi-tools, keys, cell phones, etc. Overall it was a great size pack for everything we took us on our day hikes.

This is a pack that will hold what you need for a day on the trails, but compact enough not to get in the way. The Gunnison pack is well built and the pocket design has been well thought out. The one knock that I have on this pack is the Source hydration pack not having a dust cover on it. Also upgrading or replacing parts for the hydration pack is expensive. You will be stuck having to order more than you want to in order to satisfy the $40 minimum order. The pack itself is great I would recommend for anyone whose looking for a hydration pack that will hold what you need for a day out on the trail.
