Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Grandson absolutely LOVES this Jacket Okay, this review is on behalf of my Grandson, who doesn't type that well...but he knows what he wants and recognizes quality when he sees it. He was thrilled when he opened the package that contained this jacket, in black. In fact, he told me that his MeMe and I gave better presents than Santa himself. Now he's walking all over the neighborhood showing it off to everyone he sees, including total strangers. Until today, I had no idea that he had been admiring my North Face jacket for about 2 years, secretly longing for his own. That day came today. Perfect fit, appears to be well made, and making my Grandson's day has made my day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE THIS JACKET! Ok. Well i was starting college this fall and i was worried about my freezing walks across campus this winter. NOT ANYMORE! Because of my new Aconcagua jacket. I got an XL.. It fits a LITTLE snug. But i don't care. This is the BEST winter jacket I have ever owned. It's puffy but not too puffy. Just the way I like them. And the bottom line is. I LOVE this jacket!! I'm wearing it right now. Because I love it so much!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing coat! The jacket looks really sharp on my son. Love the two tone colors. It is lightweight but keeps him warm. I wasn't 100% confident about sizing and wanted the option to exchange or return if I needed to, but it was all okay. Very warm and cool looking. Easy on and off. Very practical for an 11 year old boy. For a boy who doesn't even like to wear a winter coat, he does wear this one. I'd say this is a win-win.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loving it! I got this jacket because I found the girls version (2013 pattern) at a thrift shop for $10 for my daughter and figured with my budget I could afford a new one for her twin. I got XXS and it's a bit too big. He's in the smaller side of 5T, can even wear 4T. Today was a super windy 40 degree day and I was comfortable letting them go to school in these jackets. Not something that people think about but I have yet to help either of my kids zip their jackets. Other coats or hoodies sometimes require assistance starting the zip but these are very smooth. I'm sure the preschool teachers appreciate that as much as I do. The pockets are also generous enough to hold a set of gloves without the risk of losing them. All in all I'm very pleased with my purchase and after owning these 2 jackets I can honestly say I would have paid full price for the one I got at the thrift store because it worth every penny!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE this coat for my son! Very warm! Makes my son look even cooler than he already is :) Very warm! Great for school recess in snow (can always put the thermal underneath for those below freezing days.. but not necessary). Sleeves are nice and long to cover wrists and waist long enough to cover waistline when playing basketball at recess.. LOVE IT!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket Bought this jacket for my son and he loves it. I am pleased with it as well. Great light weight warmth for those colder days. I only wish I had bought a larger size for him to be able to wear it longer. Will buy again next year:)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Son loves it This coat is everything that you think NorthFace should be. Very good quality. My son is fairly tall and skinny. This coat actually is long enough in the body and arms for him which doesn't happen too often.

Does this have a rating for cold temperatures?  We live in upstate NY where temps can get below 0.

Asked by: Tanner21
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! Actually, this coat does not have a temperature rating. In fact, most coats do not have temperature ratings. This is for several reasons. Mainly, it's because warmth is a subjective thing, unique to each person. Not only that, but there are other factors that can affect a person's (jacket's) warmth: wind, humidity, activity level, what else your wearing, etc. However, there are still helpful hints you can use to guide you. Best bet will be to check the insulation. The higher the fill, the warmer the jacket. That should be your basic rule of thumb. For this jacket, it has a 550 fill power down. That's a good sign that this jacket will be keeping you warm. Hope this helped you out!
