"The North Face Aleutian Bx 20 Degree is a great sleeping bag, especially since I am taller than 6 feet. There is plenty of room to roam in the bag to find the perfect sleeping spot, and with a temperature rating of 20 degrees this bag kept me at the perfect temperature. While other sleeping bags force you the spend the entire night opening and closing the bag, with your body temperature oscillating back and forth between having scarlet fever and freezing, the Aleutian bag keeps you just perfect. The North Face Aleutian Bx 20 has kept me comfortably padded and insulated on any ground - dry or damp, soft or hard, hot or cold. This is a great sleeping bag for all seasons!"

"Great bag for the price" 04/22/12
I've used this bag several times already this spring already and have been very surprised by the comfort level at which I could sleep in temps below freezing. Late march on the AT, temps about 25 overnight and I slept in boxers and was quite comfortable through the night. Plenty of room to move around inside. A little heavy, but for a college kid on a college budget this was a great purchase
"Good for the price, decent all around." 03/27/12
I needed a new bag for a trip as mine is old and bulky. I originally ordered a women's but a stocking error led me to buy the male version. As other customers have said, even though it is rated for 20 I was a bit chilly even in the 30's. Throwing a fleece and a pair of leggings on remedied the situation. It is also bulkier than I expected, and I'll need to buy a compression sack to make room for my other gear in my 50L backpack. I guess for what I paid these things are to be expected.
"Super Awesome. Love it." 03/05/12
I'm an avid winter camper. This is a 20 degree bag, but it says on the inseam of the bag that to be comfortable you should sleep in 34 degree weather, but with this bag you will survive! So, bring an extra sweater or a lightweight fleece. Make your husbands carry the extra weight so you can sleep in comfort. This bag is excellent, and I love mine!
"not good at 30 degrees" 11/03/11
i am cheap and bought this because my other one is 10 years old and i wanted something newer, its a great bag not too heavy or bulky but i took it to Giants Ledge in NY and it was about 30- 35 degrees and i was freezing in it. definitly need to by a liner if your going anywhere cooler than 40
"better during warmer weather" 10/03/11
This bag is rated to 20 degrees but I can't say that holds true. I just got back from a trip where the temp didn't go below 40 and I ended up feeling cold through the night even with my thermals on. The bag is plush, comfortable, fairly light weight, and travels well in my hiking pack. I would not purchase this bag again unless they dropped the price or included a sweet liner. On the bright side it is a pretty color!
"for less then 100 $ you really couldn't do better" 05/08/11
I bought this bag as my first backpacking bag and found that for 100 bucks you really cant go wrong. I will say however that i agree with several other reviewers when they said the 20 degree rating is generous and that 30 degree or maybe 40 degree would be more accurate. all in all it is still a nice bag for the money and if you are looking for something to start backpacking with and you plan on mainly summer camping i say go for it. if you camp in the shoulder season or in winter i believe you would benefit from one of the more expensive bags
"ok bag, but not the best" 02/10/11
My wife and I both have used this bag for about 3 years now and I can say it isn't bad, but not the best. For car camping and nothing too cold this bag should be perfect. It is rated at 20 degrees but anything below 30 and it starts getting a little chilly. For backpacking it is on the heavy side. We will definately upgrade as soon as we get the chance. We did get opposite zipping bags so we can zip them together.
"Okay bag but not great" 12/18/10
I bought this for my wife to use. We've used it a couple times this last year. My son used it on an overnighter we did into Huron National Forest, and he found himself a little cool at night. The bag is a medium weight, not too bad, and it compacts down okay. The bag is rated for 20, I think it's probably more like 40. The bag is good quality, and really I don't have complaints for what we are using for, but if I had expected something warmer, I would have been disappointed. Overall, for the price (I used points) it was a good buy.
"Enduces Sleep" 12/13/10
I like this bag a lot, it works really well during spring and summer. I've used it in October and it's not awful. This is no winter bag but with a fleece liner it will get you through chilly nights. The hood part tightens nicely and is easy to loosen from inside the bag, and the zipping works the same way.
"Great bag, super warm and comfy" 12/04/10
I don't do much cold weather camping, but I used this a few times in spring/summer and it was great. Perfect for the cool nights and it is super comfortable on a warm night if you sleep on top or just open it up.
