The American Mountain Co Men’s No. 503H Lightweight Sweater is a fleece pullover with hood for lightweight warmth in cool to cold conditions. The No. 503H steps it up a notch from the No. 503 by adding a hood, that's what the H stands for. Just trying to help out. Made in the USA with Polartec® Power Dry® gridded fleece fabric, the light warmth warms your upper half and wicks moisture away from the skin. The built in stretch allows you to move freely and it's breathable so you won't overheat as you're churning out trail miles. The Thinna® snaps create a Henley-style front that flow into the Midtop™ collar and the hood. Warmth for your head that will fit cleanly underneath a helmet is a cozy necessity on the climb. The elastic ribbed cuffs wrap the wrist and finish off the pullover with a touch of style that can easily walk into town after the adventure.

looks nice, but I won't wear it climbingI've owned several Patagonia R1's, which this is made of the same material. ,,,,The snaps and cuffs make the 503H look much more like casual clothing than a typical R1 hoody, but it also makes it a lot less useful in the "real" outdoors. The snaps are inconvenient at best when compared to a zipper and the hood looks horrible when put on your head, the front of the hood makes you look like dracula because it comes down to a point, due to the stitching, and the hood creates a point due to the excess amount of fabric (the hood is double lined), I wouldn't want to wear a helmet with this.,,,,The seams are sewn using an over-lock stitch, which is much more bulky than the flatlock stitching used in the R1, which isn't the biggest issue, but it means you can feel the seam on the arms much more-so than when wearing an R1. ,,,,Pros: Made in the US, looks nicer for nice dinners,,,,Cons: Not designed for real outdoor usage.
