While this knife is a bit large for my pocket, I will usually carry it in my life-vest or in a pack. I didn't think I would like the partially serrated blade, but I must admit that it slices through virtually anything. As such, I am now a fan of the serrated blade... The blade opens easily with the thumbhole. Some reviewers will note that the liner lock is backwards (it is hard to close without repositioning the hand), but you can roll the knife over and close the blade with one hand, so I do not think this is a large drawback. If you are looking for a larger, more functional swiss army knife, this is a good choice...

I don't know if that's true but it should be. From what I've seen, this is the best, most practical Swiss Army style knife you can buy. Its long.. a really practical size, but thin. Has everything you need and nothing you don't. Perfect selection of tools. Locks in a really clever way that's hard to explain in words, but it minimizes the chance of cutting yourself while closing the blade. (so long as you're right handed). Once you see it in person, you'll understand. Damn clever. My nephew got one for Christmas and I'm so impressed I have to get one for myself. It's seeing daily use from kitchen to mountainside.

"Hiking Essential"

When hiking and going off the beaten path is something that you enjoy doing, then this knife is key. I've rarely had to sharpen mine, and whenever I do it's quick and easy. It has everything I need without being huge like other knifes out there.

This knife is bad...to the bone. Nice longer blade on it fully capable of being opened with one hand which is great. Sturdy attachments. The saw is mean, very stable and sharp, should come in handy. This is a sharp looking knife (see what i did there?). Warranty is a big plus too!

This tool has everything you would need for a normal adventure out into the wilderness for a weekend. It is fairly heavy, though, so if you're looking to travel light, it may not be the optimum choice for you.

the full size blade makes this thing a pretty good tool to have on hand... the longer saw makes cutting some pretty decent firewood possible...
