ClassicI bought this rope recently because I had such a good experience with my last one. My last one made it to Thailand and back, though I eventually had to retire it because the salty ocean air just eats ropes. But through it all I found very little sheath abrasion when all my friends ropes were getting hella messed up. After the salt air exposure, it was pretty hard to belay from the top-- took a lot of muscle. But for the first two years of owning the rope before that experience it runs smoothly, ties in well. Not too stiff, not too bendy.
I always get the dry treatment but I'm not sure how useful it is. I try not to climb in the rain, though living in the Pacific NW often things are seeping/wet. But Yes, the dry treat keeps general dirt out, however keep in mind desert dust seems to infiltrate and ruin pretty much any rope, so if you think you're going to climb in desert areas maybe don't bother with the dry treatment. This rope rocks! (PS- it's not the skinniest but who cares)

Love - Bi-weave option would be better! This rope handles great, amazing for the price. The only thing that would make it better is if it had bi-weave option.
