"Great for keeping out semi-big stuff" 03/03/09

This product did not fit my "Nalgene Everyday OTG Tritan Water Bottle 22oz", but it fit on my other nalgene bottles just fine, but also on some other bottles it did not create a waterproof seal, which caused water to leak out when inverted. it gets the job done very nicely especially combined with the steripen.I still carry drops as a precaution but i think this works well.

"A must have." 06/20/08

A must buy if you use the SteriPen. This thing takes all the gunk out of the water before the pen does it's magic. Unless you like chunky, sandy, water, I would purchase this with the SteriPen.

Have used this through the summer and fall without getting sick, so assume it is doing its job. Adds weight and buld, but I dont think giardia is a whole lot of fun.

"Pre?-pre-filter, could be better." 06/23/07

Much better than no pre-filter at all. Definitely keeps out debris and bugs. But upon testing, the fine silt from the Paria river easily made it's way through. SteriPen Pre-filter says it filters down to what the SteriPen pen can treat, but the SteriPen pen instructions say the water must be clear. Who should I trust, SteriPen or SteriPen? Luckily fresh spring water was an option - which I used.

"MUST HAVE FOR STERIPEN PURIFIER !!!" 09/14/06

I'm very glad I bought this pre-filter. It is not only filters the water from small leafs nd water bugs in the stream (trust me u will have some floating in the stream) but also holds steripen light in place so u do not have to hold it. also u can shake water in the bottle for batter purification. Plus the top part of the filter converts your regular bottle to the sport bottle... MUST HAVE FOR STERIPEN PURIFIER !!!

"Nice when it's needed." 08/18/06

One more thing to carry, but it does remove the chunks and reduce the the funkiness of some water sources. Not a necessity, but nice to have when it's needed.

"Convinient & Effective" 10/21/05

Effectively clears water sources enough for your SteriPen to function properly. Small and easily packed away while attached to your Nalgene, this pre-filter is one of those things you forget you're carrying but are grateful you have when you suddenly need it. And chicks dig it.

"Good pre-filter" 10/05/05

Seems to work pretty good. Fits right on a nalgene type bottle. Has a filter element that can be washed out out changed. Good Concept for people who sterilize water with pills, boiling, UV light or chemicals.
