The revolutionary JourneyLCD Handheld Water Purifier by SteriPen uses universal symbols to take the guesswork out of the water purification process. Journey’s integrated LCD screen displays the user’s dose selection (1/2 liter or 1 liter), battery status and countdown timer. The LCD screen also tracks the number of uses and signals when lamp usage approaches its life limit. At 10,000 cycles, lamp life for SteriPEN JourneyLCD reaches a new high (purify 1 liter 4 times a day for nearly 7 years!). Like all SteriPENs, the Journey is Fast (48 seconds for 0.5 L (16 oz.)), Light (128g /4.5 oz.), Effective, and even easier with it’s innovative LCD screen. The Journey mates with the SteriPEN pre-filter and is sized between our Adventurer and Classic. Journey ships with two non-rechargeable (disposable) CR123 batteries.

Great for most places! The steripen is a great product. Its light, small, fast and easy. It kills all the baddies in your water. It doesn't remove them but makes them harmless. It doesn't remove bugs, silt, sticks, fish. So if you don't like those things in your water be a little careful. It also has been known to not work as well in turbid water (brownish/cloudy) as well as clear water. If you run it twice or filter it prior you're good to go though. The only thing that kind of sucks about it is that it doesn't change the taste of the water. Id you're water taste like monkey butt to begin with that's what its gonna taste like after. Same color too. Safe to drink though.,,,,Kudos Steripen.

Get the Adventuer instead.I have the Adventurer. (See my reviews under those.),,,,I would get the Adventurer instead. From the description, it doesn't seem like the LCD display actually provides any practical advantages. Regardless of what the LCD says about the battery life, wouldn't you keep an extra set handy just in case? The other info might be good to know, but not really that important.,,,,I like my Adventurer because it's small and simple. Basically fits anywhere. I'm sure the Journey isn't all that much bigger, but why go for the bigger, more expensive, product if it doesn't have any additional functionality?

Was great to travel with!Went on vacation to the Philippines and used it every time we were filling up our nalgene bottles. I did not have any problems with being ill or have stomach issues from drinking the tap water and using the purifier to sanitize the water. The water purifier was very easy to use and worked like a charm. It comes with a carrying case that is very portable and does not take up a lot of space. I would recommend this product for those who are traveling to places where their water is not as clean as you are used to.

If your over having to wait for water to boil, get this.I used to treat my water with tablets and chemicals, and thought i would try the steripen journey. It’s amazing, compact and light, treats 1lt of water in a minute and a half, and the best thing about it, no bad after taste! Definitely recommend-
